Are there any normal people on myspace?

For the first time i was browsing around there.

Whats up with all those so called creative/drama queen/emoretard/hippie/gothic/suicidal/im so fucking interesting scary lowlifes?

Im TOTALLY missing the point of that whole myspace thing.

I see 2 types of guys: The sensitive nerd who listens to Radiohead and the south beach muscle idiots who still think women dig 250 pounds men with no brain and small penises.

And 1 type of girls: Tattoo'd drama queens with purple hair.

Eeeesh... the other day I went to sign up and found my 15 year old sons login on my machine.... I read for two hours. It was pretty lame but luckily I found out hes very anti-drug and alcohol. And there was nothing horrific that I found. Thank GOD and knock on wood!! I kept his login for future invasion of his privacy :thumbsup

riddler 08-07-2005 12:54 PM

NickRac 08-07-2005 01:13 PM

I signed up and am using mine for publicity...I am neither the emo nerd or the 250 pound muscle guy, although some of that does apply to me...

Well a while back he wrote something in an email about a kid who was bullying him something like "I could just kill that guy" something to that affect.... and another time he and a g/f used to write emails back and forth talking about how they'd just "kill themselves" if one broke up with the other etc etc...

The first incident caused the police to knock at my door... the other one, the girl got mad at him and gave a printout to the school and the police. So until he's 18 he will have very little privacy. If something DID happen god forbid, no one's ever going to say that I didn't monitor his internet use or keep a close eye on the situation.

Some of the profiles I read from friends of his were pretty disturbing I must say though. These 14 year old girls all talking about how they love to give blowjobs and smoke pot and drink vodka, etc... You can guarantee when my 7 yr old daughter gets to be a teen I will be snooping on her internet use as well. I'd kick the living shit out of her if I read shit like that in HER profile...

no offence rrred, you know I think of you as the biggest star and best sales rep. :pimp
... but how do you think your son feels about you shareing that info ... on GFY ?

Murderous 08-07-2005 02:44 PM

I have friends that have young daughters like that... even younger. They talk about everything you said and more. They say it out loud, in front of anyone and everyone, they don't even care. I am not talking about a few either... I was at a cookout/graduation party and was outside walking into the house to use the facilities and overheard a group of about 5 girls talking about some serious hardcore. I ignored it and continued on into the house where there was a bedroom door cracked and another 5-6 girls in there laughing and giggling quite loudly about the very activities you mentioned above... they all ranged between 12-15 not 1 was even 16. It is sad, one of them will get hurt (as it appears they may have been already).

What nasty little wenches. was my thoughts.

RRRED 08-07-2005 03:25 PM

Well he knows that inappropriate talk between himself and girls is not ok with me and it's been very open and I talk openly with his friends about their own similar situations etc too... He didn't do anything any other kid that age does though the only difference is that he got caught.

When I say talking inappropriately I also mean like saying crap like "I love you" or "I can't live without you" and stuff like that. I don't remember ever talking like that at 13 but the harsh reality is that kids do that nowadays. Luckily my son doesn't talk sexual or disrespectful to girls. I've beat that into his head regularly for years.

Of course their feelings are real and you can't tell them its jibberish but because of thier hormones and puberty and stuff their feelings are amplified too. So I am constantly trying to talk to him alot and keep him in touch with reality and make sure he understands that things change drastically from year to year and they will continue to do so until he's well out of school.

He doesn't care that I talk about stuff on gfy because he knows I talk about anything. He's a very good kid and he looks back already and laughs at some of the dumb things he's said or done in recent years.

In fact right now he's at camp training to be a counselor. He was voted in and all the other kids look up to him as someone that is patient and understanding. Other kids are very drawn to him and I'm so proud of what he's turning into.

But I will still snoop now and then to make sure that I'm not gullible like my parents were. I was a complete hellion.

tungsten 08-07-2005 03:28 PM

i think RRRED is just being a responsible parent, nothing wrong with that

Red: I am with you 100%. Some people are TOO liberal these days. He is YOUR son. I think you are entitled to know a bit about him in this shitty world.

je_rome 08-08-2005 01:01 AM

the proportion of the crazy memebers to the normal ones are too large already, i'd rather not join anymore.

Sarah_Jayne 08-08-2005 07:10 AM

yeah..more of those normal smut merchants need to be there

El Duderino 08-08-2005 11:23 AM

myspace is mostly for emo kids from what ive seen - oh well

El Duderino 08-08-2005 11:23 AM

and girls who love showing off their cleavage in pics

robfantasy 08-08-2005 11:26 AM

i have been on myspace since the beginning

Holly 08-08-2005 12:26 PM

No. I don't have an account there and that's exactly why. The girls were all half naked or talked about how much they lOvEd! to be bi-sexual, and the guys were even worse. Most of them had either a picture with no shirt on, or a picture of their car. And guess what their profiles talked about? Their bodies or their car. I can't imagine what/who you'd hope to attract with shit like that. Why not just skip the middle man and buy a hooker? :pimp

And yes, I know it's a hook-up, one-night stand, fuck me the first time you see me, kinda thing. Not into that, though.

Hollywood Horwitz 08-08-2005 03:43 PM

i love myspace, its a great networking place.. add me if ya want myspace.com/rossangeles
