You walk into a room and there is three doors, two with instant death missles waiting for you if you open them and one with Erika Ames waiting to have sex before she got a man or after which ever. Their is a mighty wizard that will answer three questions. But might always be lying or always be telling the truth. You can only ask three yes or no questions. No run on questions either, no commas or "and" in the questions. Good luck |
Hey chaze, can you hit me on ICQ real quick? Got a hosting related question for you.
|
So we could only asked yes or no questions... I mean we could ask anything? about what? in the topic or about the mighty wizard, what will it be Chaze?

Should I go in door number 2? Should I go in door number 3? Go in the one they gave a unique answer to. |
i'll just ask him "is the first door the right door?", "is the second door the right door?", and "is the third door the right door". and wether he is lying or not, the only no or yes answer will be the right door.
|
i am just bored and riddle is also a boring game.

this one is a good easy one..
------------- You have twelve coins, eleven identical and one different. You do not know whether the "odd" coin is lighter or heavier than the others. Someone gives you a balance and three chances to use it. The question is: How can you make just three weighings on the balance and find out not only which coin is the "odd" coin, but also whether it's heavier or lighter? ----------------- |
Divide the twelve coins to half and weigh them. The lighter half should be again divided and be put to the balance so you can determine the lighter half until you get into the last three coins.

Is this right? My head hurts now. :Oh crap |

no, should be divided in three groups. If you divide them in half at the beginning, you need 4 weightings |
A River Crossing.
There are two boys each weighing 40kgs who deside to earn some pocket money in the holidays. They deside to use their small row boat with a maximum capacity of 80kgs total, to enable the two of them to earn their pocket money. They deside to wait beside a river bank after a storm a week before destroyed the only bridge for miles that was used as a normal means of crossing such a wide river. The one day in question a group of 11 adults each weighing 80kgs who are passing through needed to cross this river at this very same point. They are all on the same side as the two boys of the river. They deside to pay to get over to the other side as there is no other way to get accross this river with understanding that they are not going into the river except crossing by this small row boat. The fee is charged at one dollar for each pass that the row boat makes to cross the river. At the end of the day both boys must be on the same side as they all started. Q. How much money did the two boys make that day in question? A. ? |
id rather say... brazil :thumbsup

1st split 6 and 6, eliminate the heavier stack, the stack that is eliminated will always hold all the same coins. 2nd split 3 and 3, again eliminate the heavier stack. 3rd, only place 1 coin on one side and 1 coin on the other side of the balance. If the last time using the balance was the same then the coin that wasn't placed on the balance would be the correct coin. If it was the other way around, the coin on the left or right of the balance from the 3rd turn would give the answer. |

The method with 6 against 6 coins won't work because you don't know whether the coin is heavier or lighter.
Here's a tip: divide coins into 3 piles and weigh 4 against 4. You can have one of two possible results: they're equal or one pile is heavier. Work from here :) |
