Will you pay the tax?

If they decide to tax the adult industry, will you pay it?

DateDoc 08-06-2005 06:05 AM

It is not going to happen so no need to worry.

It's not proposed as a tax that you pay, it's collected at the time of the sale. Would be suicide for billing services to not comply.

Doc911 08-06-2005 07:33 AM

I wonder how they are going to tax someone from outside the US

Hinc 08-06-2005 07:37 AM

At least for US billing its hard to see how it can be avoided.

Not unless they're out of the US.

Exactly. It will be the death of US billing companies .. or maybe they will have to move offshore and not pay ANY tax to the US at all .. :)

Dirty Dane 08-06-2005 07:55 AM

Quite ironic.... Such taxes will probably lead to less overall income for the public if ressources and moneyflow moved out of US. And it is not only billing processors.

But thats what happens when illusionistic politicians try to decide whats best, and not economists.

Good thoughts. When you make taxes or fees excessive, people or companies will go above and beyond to figure out how to avoid paying them, leading to a reduction of taxes collected. All the while there will be more Government required to enforce the new taxes at an added cost to taxpayers. It's a lose lose situation. :2 cents:

Yes California thought their taxes were great for business.

Nevada thanks them.

Not for the companies who move and are no longer burdened by ANY of the regressive tax laws, nor for the countries they move to.

As I've mentioned before, it's only a lose to the USGov and the "little guy" who doesn't have the luxury of packing up and getting out. The big players will only see it as an annoyance and it opens the door wide for little players from other countries.

25% on US sales = a golden age for Canadian webmasters. GO BUSH! FOUR MORE YEARS! :1orglaugh

tony286 08-06-2005 10:45 AM

It will be pasted to the customer like sales tax and if you have something unique and original .It wont hurt sales , you have same old tired, bought content garbage say goodbye to signups.

wyldblyss 08-06-2005 10:49 AM

I don't think the tax will happen, but if it does, it just means that U.S. companies are hurt and companies from other countries reap the benefits. That is something the U.S. government should avoid.
