Where Does ITunes Store The Music Files?
 

I wanna fucking back up my music collection, where the fuck do i find the music files.... i cant seem to find them anywhere. I did find a folder with other folders in there but it doesnt seem to have all my music tracks.

what the fuck? someone pls help.

C:\Documents and Settings\Name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

are songs imported from cd stored in another place?

my guess is that they are stored on your hard drive

You choose where they are stored in the preferences, you also choose if it auto cleans them up, moves them, etc. So it all depends on your settings. I have all of my music auto-moved into the itunes folder and organized.

I never had anything set.

My imported tracks play fine but I dont know where the fuck they are because theyre definitely not in the itunes music folder (that only contains the mp3s i downloaded off the net).

I tried to search for them but no luck. fucking annoying.

start->search->music->music->search

or

start->search-> *.mp3

they were in "unknown artist" folder as i hadnt had it set to organize the music according to the infos.
