does DNS work faster now?
 

I just registered a domain like 2 minutes ago and its already resolving for me and one of my friends... I remember when it took like 24 hours... did something change?

noticed it as well.. since a year back or so..

yes. The updates in the root servers are almost instant now.
Been a while since it changed.

yeah it moves pretty quick now. Quickest i seen it was about 4 hours.........

you still have to be careful about cached domains, they can still take 24-48hrs.

fot the most part yes. depends what registrar you use. i've had domains registered and resolving in just a few mintues through godaddy

for about 4-6 months already :) Gotta love it.

Every domain i do on godaddy is damn near instant, same with DNS changes, for about a year now

namecheap is almost instant too, pretty neat :D
