yeah it fucking rocks. had a skype conference with 6 of the gunzblazing crew yesterday because of everyone moving around. 4 computers 6 people...good shit. made the world feel pretty small.

What am I missing out on now?

Been using skype for 6 months now.. Very quick to call UK from US.

just webchat stuff.. been around for ages but skype is making serious inroads.. becoming like the audio ICQ.

I LOVE skype! With all my family and most of our affiliates in the US.. I can call while sitting at my keyboard with both hands free. .02 Euros per minute anywhere in the world.

I used it for a few months now.......

..but i only cyber on saturdays at 2am

Yup I use it, fantastic thing and your right. I can see it becoming the audio icq for webmaster interaction.

It's great - even better than ICQ because you can keep talking and work at the same time - you don't have to keep going back to the icq panel to type a message

it's great man, installed a wifi here at home a couple of days ago and now i get called on my wifi pda....skype has the pda version and it works great

skype is indeed cool.. used it for a time..

no, just north america... but:

world wide i use 10-10-987, 39 cents to connect and 3 cents per minute to western europe

I have loved it - BUUUUT, it keeps on killing either my ROUTER or my VOIP system so I have to restart them midstrea. Very annoying as the service, when it works, kicks ass.

I have it on my PC and my PDA phone so you can always reach me

newsflash: skype->skype is free

don't really know what LD is, but the point of using Skype for me is that I pay about 10%
of what I usually pay for international calls, when you call mobile (international) is a bit more expensive but still much cheaper than using land line

LD = long distance

skype is free because it's PC to PC
skype+ is not free (it's PC to phone) but it's really cheap

Sister went to the states
I installed SkypeOUT (the skype PC to phone service)
For $20 my mom can talk to her 20 hours lol

I also rented a regular phone number via the SkyPe service in my sister's area in USA.
$10 for 3 months rental. My sister now can make local calls to that regular phone number in her area and the call gets redirected to my phone PC at home...

So, $30 investment, and u can convieniently communicate PC>PC, PC>Phone, Phone>Pc for 3-4 months long distance ;)

I love it!

They need to offer a box to plug regular phones into like real VoIP services have. The USB phones they sell are not even cordless.
