Everyone survived that plane crash in Toronto. :thumbsup

I am blown away considering the first reports were so negative.

markyman 08-02-2005 03:58 PM

newbreed 08-02-2005 03:59 PM

DutchTeenCash 08-02-2005 03:59 PM

crash landing not a plane crash

BlueDesignStudios 08-02-2005 03:59 PM

unbelievable...

newbreed 08-02-2005 04:01 PM

Oh, and anyone who really knows me knows I hate flying with a passion, so a plane crash like this with a happy ending (considering) will make it easier for me to stomach my flights this week...lol

Everytime you go through some turbulence just remember someone else has control of the plane and that there is nothing you can do. Each bump might be the last one before the plane falls out of the sky. That little creak you hear as the plane is taking off - is that really alright or did a part fall off this time? :1orglaugh

All kidding aside you would have loved a couple of the flights I have been on. One was from WPB, FL to Atlanta. The third engine in the tail of the L-1011 would not fire. Needless to say the pilot didn't tell us until we were on the runway and had to turn back. It was not so bad that we had to turn back but that they worked on the plane to fix the engine as we sat there. Think like a tin can and you're inside and a dentists drill comes to mind too. Plane was fixed and there were no problems.

Have a safe flight. :winkwink:

hahaha, thanks so much for the reassurance...LOL

I should dig up my thread from Vegas last year when the plane we were on broke and we had to return to the Vegas airport and all hell broke loose later on when we landed in Dayton. I swore that would be the last time I flew anywhere...lol

Damn, if the Captain would only talk a little more during the flight to let people like me know that the creaking and swaying and vibrating and all that other shit is OK I would do so much better.

Actually this year on the way back from SD I discovered those quick-acting chewable sleeping pills, so they are my new plane friends...lol

Pete-KT 08-02-2005 04:16 PM

Ya that was a miracle

Fly United and ask them if it is a flight where you can listen to the cockpit. On some of their flights you can listen to the cockpit on one of the ent. channels as they talk to the towers, etc. It is actually really interesting.

Hornydog4cooter 08-02-2005 05:41 PM

Hell yeah amazeing no one died :thumbsup

Dollarmansteve 08-02-2005 06:46 PM

Clearly, this is not a miracle. It is wonderful that everyone survived, and it is thus self evident that there was no great grave danger posed to their lives - as evidenced by the fact that everyone survived and there were practically no injuries. Is it not obvious to everyone that the plane exploded AFTER everyone was off the plane, as if it didnt, there would have been lots of people who were blown up and/or burned.

I only say this because I am sick of seeing CNN turn this accident into a 'miracle' story. No matter what happens, the media vultures are always trying to spin the story in such a way as to increase viewership. You know all the folks at CNN were hoping this was a terrorist attack so they would have a 'juicy' story to report, or at least hundreds of casualties so they could profit from the suffering of others. And, since none of this was the case - it is now labelled a miracle - gimme a break.

Again, it is wonderful that no one was hurt and congratulations to the emergency response team at Pearson, the police, the hospitals and everyone who helped out.

Wiggles 08-02-2005 06:48 PM

that is incredible, watched the burning footage, glad i was there a day earlier and not today.

I just watched a documentary on NBC: Dateline about a week ago about an Air Transat flight that crash landed in the Atlantic Ocean, another flight that left from Toronto. It's a sign, I swear.
