Good FTP Client?
 

SmartFTP always gives me a bitch of a time.
What are some other free alternatives?

smartftp rules your momma. its the best gui client for windows. you can always use the commandline version or cygwin + gnu ftp... thats the way I roll.

flashfxp is the best by far.

Yep, It's all I've used for a few years now.

Never used another one since a bud recommended me the abovementioned. Simply great!

I used WS_FTP LE for years, but they killed that off. :(

but after testing FlashFXP i would never go back or go to another client.

Is there an easier way to upload files using SmartFTP than going thru the menu commands > upload > bla bla bla?

Seriously? SmartFTP is one of the best out there...
flashFXP is alright but you can't (in the version I Have) open more than one connection in a single instence.

The Pro version of coreftp.... very fast - with a cable connection and 10 threads it uploads at amazing speeds.

I've been a diehard cuteftp pro fan for ages but recently started using Staff FTP, check it out, http://www.staff-ftp.com - oh and its FREE ;)

after using ws_ftp regularly since 1996, and occasionally using cuteftp or smartftp, i saw this thread and downloaded flashfxp. what a great program!

Cute FTP Pro 6.0 Professional's what I use now. But have used Cute Ftp previous versions for prolly a good 6-7 years I'd guess. All very nice, and work well. Had to upgrade to the 6.0 this year because host changed servers, and added in a bunch of new security shit, which older versions did not support.

I still use cute.. the new multi-threaded one really helps speed things up.

Another vote for filezilla!
