They were a breakthrough band. They had an edge that metal lost. Guns N Roses got too big for themselves. After a few years of lavishly large music, the scene needs a reality check. Nirvana was that reality check. It was high school losers complaining, the masses could relate.

Nirvana was one of a handful of bands I feel obliterated "alternative rock" as a genre. Not them personally, but the puppeteers that control the music industry that labeled them, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. as alternative, then shoved them down our throats every hour while the true great alternative bands got no promotion.

Back when the hair bands were big there was a great show late Sunday nights on MTV called 120 Minutes that was a true alternative to the commercial crap. That was the only time I listened to music outside of my personal collection back then. Thank God for the internet these days. :thumbsup

well i have controle over what i watch and hear unless of cause i just happened to listen to radio or watch tv for some reason... i know i can zap away and find something 10000 times as good as his stupid "oh i am so soppy" music.. but to be quite frankly i was sick and tired of hearing them the first time around and a movie is only going to make it come back to a lesser degree...
