Help me with a car choice please
So I am trying to buy a car for winter. My current car 350Z is way too small and I need something that will handle on ice well and something that's super big so I can load it with crap when I need to.
I am deciding between Audi A6 Avant (3.0 liter diesel, all wheel drive) http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/A...f3q-grey-a.jpg and BMW 535 d (3.0 liter diesel with 2 turbo chargers, rear wheel drive) http://imagesbmwgroup2.free.fr/image...-package_1.jpg price is about the same. I like them both..and I can't decide.... any one here cares for one or the other? |
I'd take #3
the E-Class T-Model ;) |
go with the BMW out of those 2
|
Audi for sure... looks much better than ANY station car out there :2cents:
|
I'd always go for BMW.
|
No 2 :banana
|
buy a Hummer.

i'd go for Audi A6 Avant
|

Get the audi.
|
I would pick the audi
|
Why pick a car if it is to small and needs to hold on the ice?
I'd pick something like a Land Rover or a Jeep Cherokee... Funny... People make a little money and they want to live rich... For what? Don't impress people with your lamer shit, impress them by giving them a job. |
And to top it off.. Both cars are updated station wagons... pleeeeasse...
|
i'll go for BMW
|
i'd always chose a BMW over an Audi
|
Go Audi, I have one, great cars...its a 2000 and never broke down, never. Cant say the same about BMW, a friend of mine had a 5 series and was always in the shop, car had to be towed 3 times. :2 cents:

It's all about the BMW man :thumbsup
|
I like the BMW alot more.... :thumbsup

audi :thumbsup

At least you are getting diesel.. nice move. The Audi Quattros are amazing cars.
|
suggestion for something cheaper & better quality imho:
Dodge Magnum 5.7 Hemi V8 engine AWD http://www-5.dodge.com/vehsuite/dispatch.do comes with nice options to make it more luxury car. with the money you'll put for audi or bmw, you can make this car look gorgeous and unique! :thumbsup |
Take the BMW. 3 liters, diesel, and turbocharged. Everyone knows turbo diesels are fast as fuck, especially with a few mods such as a huge fucking turbocharger :winkwink:
|
audi looks better
|
The BMW looks slick.

I don't want to impress anyone and I hate both Land Rover and Jeep Cherokee. It's not a question of money, thank you very much, and next time you suggest I make "a little money and want to live rich", check my signature and find out who I am. peace |
You cant go wrong with the BMW 535 d, but don't get the "fat" one ;)
The normal also has lots of space: http://www.autotitre.com/forum/up/a3abd9e1a5.jpg |
i'd take both :pimp
|
whatever you do, do not get a station wagon bwm. thats just gay and ugly. But id say Beemer over audi anyday
|
you could have got a really good deal on a GM or Ford up till yesterday, employee pricing is over now though. Both make good SUV's and they were marked down thousands of dollars.
I picked up a monster 4x4 F-150 FX4 for $37k marked down from $46k |

BINGO :thumbsup |
I love em both as they are both diesels, as well wagons.
The losers in N.America that have decided to not offer diesel simply do not understand. Most ignoramuses still think they stink. |
Paco, of Large Cash. - the 535d (the one i've posted) is not even a normal diesel car :) it has a bi-turbo so it doesn't even fell like a normal diesel, plus it fast, economic (if your not counting the car price itself), and goodlooking :)
|
Go with the Beemer

GM is finaly realizing that their shit is overpriced and they are reducing prices on 30 different models by up to 10% less for 2006 than they were priced for 2005. I expect Ford and Chrysler to follow thier lead. |
Go for the BMW. That'a a hellacool wagon. I like your style too. Diesel is underrated and the efficiency and longevity of a good Diesel will outlast any Gasoline engine.
The Audi's are nice, but they are to VW what Mercury is to Ford. Essentially the underpinnings and chassis are VW cousins and while that's fine, the BMW is a stand-alone. I'm not a fan of the current direction that BMW has gone in with design, but it's growing on me. They are cutting edge and the market is turning in their direction in terms of style. As they have done in the past. The BMW is the clear winner. SUV's are just oversized station wagons. I'm an SUV driver I can say that. |
Both are great cars but I lean towards BMW because its handling is simply unmatched IMHO. The Audi does have AWD however which many people prefer during ice and snow season.
Audi has drastically improved their overall quality in recent years as well. BMWs are hit and miss: you can have a wonderful vehicle that never has any problems for years, or a rolling piece of headache that's in the shop a lot, at least it appears to be that way. Luckily the BMW warranty should take care of it. If you haven't already done so you'll really want to test drive them both. The handling is different, and the BMW picks up a lot quicker and seems to have slightly better stopping power. Edmunds.com and other review sites may offer a little more detailed help as well. Good luck, no matter which one you go with, it'll be a good choice :) |
Kroyrotica - very nice post, what you said about "hit-or-miss" with BMW also applys 100% to Mercedes (specialy their Diesel models)
|
between those 2 i would say Audi A6
|
i don't care for bmw so i'm suggesting the audi
|
BMW of course
|
Thank you all for wonderful posts! They help me a lot. For example I have learned that BMWs break down a lot..which is something I didn't know before. :)
