BEWARE - False designer, flat out scammer, content stealer
 

About a month and a half ago, Michel Kuik, aka SirTreX, started a thread looking for some work to build his portfolio. Here is the thread:

So I ordered a paysite from him, and he gave me a nice price. I sent him half of the total upfront.

Since then he basically only did the logo of the site (which sucked btw), nothing more. Now he doesn't reply to any of the e-mails I send him, last time I've heard from him was July 16. :(

Ok, so I gave up, I don't think I'm ever going to see my design done, or my money (I already asked for a refund). Apart from telling the guys from Paypal what a scammer he is I thought I should warn all of you also.

No offense, but did you see the quality of his work before ordering? Did you notice that he was using stolen content in his designs? And you went ahead with the order anyway? :disgust

He was looking to BUILD his portfolio. I don't think his site was even up. I didn't see any stolen content then.

Do you think ALL OF US who replied didn't see it, and today EVERYBODY who posted on that thread spoted that?

He simply wasn't using that content back then. The page that's up right now is not the page he showed us. Probably he stole someones DESIGN back then to show us a better work that wasn't his.

You're right, I guess... Sorry to hear you got scammed, sucks when that happens...

I would like to thank thinkx, the owner of Dutch Teen Cash for helping me out.

He offered to CALL the designer, since they are both dutch, and he was able to sort this things out. The designer/scammer is going to refund me in a week. And he's taken all of his sites down.

I would like to thank thinkx again for doing this, he didn't have to and I hadn't even asked him but he showed to be a great guy and offered to do this.

btw, Tranza, I don't know if you already have sites, but if this is your first, it's not a good idea to start with cheap offer designs, you'll get either scammed or get half-ass mediocre designs. If money is tight, just use Quashe, FDSign, Team31 or Mammy, they're very good and their prices are very fair. Furthermore, I consider them cheap for the quality they provide. In the short and long run, it's a win-win situation, 200 bucks you "save" in a design usually means you've lost 10 or 20x in sales.

I already have some sites. This is my first paysite though.

The only reaon I hired this guy is that the designs he showed me were awesome. I´m prety sure he changed the links after.

If I had seen his REAL work I´d never hire him, once even I can do designs better than that.
