Mommy and baby are home, so now I can finally get my 2 hours sleep a night!

For those of you keeping up... mommy and baby finally got home today. The last 26 hours at the hospital, I had to stay awake for. The baby was under phototherapy and had to keep a blinder over his eyes because the light was so bright. That meant me staying awake to make sure he didn't knock it off.

Now I'm tired... and heading to bed until the next feeding (in 2 hours). I've been trying to keep up with icq messages over the passed few days with what little time I had.

If you didn't get a reply from me, I'm sorry.... don't take it personally.

If I don't get any sleep and soon... I may start lactating from my eyes. :disgust

Baby likes sucking on my finger though. I'm a temporary fix until he gets to mommies mammeries.

It gets, sooo much better!

If you can make it through the first 2 months, you will be able to sleep well!
Lens, told us to buy a breathing monitor....It helped sooo much, like a little insurance.
Sounds an alarm, if baby stops breathing. My son is close to 7 months and he sleeps from 8/9 pm to 6/7 am, I still go check on him often to make sure he is covered up.

Good Luck with eveything, sleep in shifts! For Mom, she needs to sleep, whenever baby sleeps. it helped me so much!

XOXO

It does get a bit better as they get older.
My son is now almost 5 months old and he sleeps 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours now.
I can not wait until he can sleep 5 or more hours in a row.
But right now he still needs his bottles every couple of hours.
although he is eating 3 meals a day of solid baby food, about half a jar each feeding
I had to start him on food cuase he got his first tooth at 3 months old and the bottles of forumla were just not enough.

Good Luck Stuart :thumbsup

Welcome to the club. My baby boy is 7 1/2 weeks old, and drinking 4 oz's ever 3 hours and 20 minutes. Every now and then we actually get to sleep for 4 hours.

I actually can not wait for my mother in law to get here!!!

Than maybe I can get some damn work done!

As some one said, welcome to the club... :upsidedow You will learn to sleep when you can... :)

We have twin girls who are 5 weeks old now. They take just over 2oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We are lucky to catch about 2 hours sleep at a time, max. I have had a bit more sleep because a few nites I had to crash in another bedroom to get some sleep. My wife just keeps on going though. I am looking forward to when they can go longer between feedings and sleep thru the nite.

We also have one of those breathing monitors. They work great. Also works great for letting you know when the grand parents snatch them out of the crib. Because with in 15 seconds the alarm starts going off... :1orglaugh
