JB/Stats Remote.. some free advice.

I usually charge my mainstream clients a good chunk of change for this info but will offer it to you for free!

You need to buy Unified Stats and make them sign a Non Competition agreement! :2 cents: :2 cents:

I think it was fine for JB to criticize John, its his job, they're competitors, nothing wrong with that. Duracell disses Energizer all the time and vice versa. Its good for the consumer. Of course JB isn't going to call up John and say "let me help you fix your program" It would be pretty stupid. Does Duracell go to Energizer and help them troubleshoot?

That said, I was going to sign up for SR but when I saw the price I thoought it was a ripoff, $30/month is too much so I didn't buy. I use US instead and was glad when it came out.

If SR lowered their prices to around $5/month it would be more reasonable and more reflective of the market value. I think if they leave it at $30 they will not last too long. Analyze Walmart and its competitors.

my $.02

I partly agree with you.

My problem with StasRemote is that
1. This isn't the first time they've resorted to "trying" to use the "honesty" card. SR has tried to previously attack UnifiedStats John's integrity.
2. Unified Stats has never started a thread pointing out "problems" with StatsRemote. They've always keept in clean and about the products.

I guess for me it just comes down to a personal taste on how to handle competition and I'm not impressed with the way SR is handling things.

Bottom line:

2 almost identical products and one if free the other $30 p/m.

I have used SR for years and have no complaints. If you can't afford the $30 a month then you should really reconsider the business that you are in.

darksoul 02-24-2007 09:23 AM

statsremote rocks
I wouldn't use unifiedstats even if you paid me.
If $30/month is too much you're in the wrong business.

Sosa 02-24-2007 09:37 AM

I have no problem spending $30/month for stats remote. Saves me so much time.

BOSS1 02-24-2007 10:19 AM

i pay 30 bucks a month for stats remote...

SomeCreep 02-24-2007 10:52 AM

I've been using Statsremote for 4 years and I am very happy with it. For anyone that promotes lots of sponsors, Statsremote is a must have.

I would die without SR. Sorry, US, but SR's interface is perfect.

RobertD 02-24-2007 02:02 PM

Been using SR for years now. If 30 per month is an issue you've got problems.

RawAlex 02-24-2007 02:14 PM

I started using SR not that long ago. $30 is nothing for the time that it saves me (no need to check too many stats in a day). More importantly, the updates have been quick, and they seem to keep pace with programs as they change their stats interfaces, etc.

$1 per day. Saves me maybe an hour a day that was wasted in the past checking stats. An hour of my time is worth more than $1. That makes it a great deal.

im sorry but that "if you cant pay $30/month get out of this business" model is crap, just because you pay a high monthly fee for a product doesn't mean its better then anything out there, i could make a shitty version of SR and US and charge $50 a month, doesn't make it better then SR or US, i used US before, but stopped as i don't like many programs running on my computer, and i only push like 10 main sponsors, and i got them bookmarked to my stats page in firefox, so all i have to do is open all in a tab, and view stats, close, 3 seconds of my time, its easier for me... anyway, back to what i was saying, paying a monthly fee for something doesn't mean its better then something that does the same and is free... they both get your stats, they both do what they are supposed to do, leave it at that, if you wanna pay $30/month for it, go ahead, but don't start critisizing people who decide to use the free version that does exactly the same thing, over paying a monthly fee

with that being said, good job both John and JB, both great products :thumbsup
