anger is a mental disorder?

LOL.... A lot of mentally disturbed people here ... :1orglaugh |
What the article fail to mention is that 2/3 had mental problems before going to Iraq.. So 1/3 was actually cured by the trip :winkwink:

100% of all Americans that supported the invasion of Iraq have a mental condition also. It's call "STUPIDITY".

I can understand this, it took me about 6 years before my mind become my own again. Think about it like this, being paranoid without being high. Angry with no reason. Your body and mind go from being pushed, programmed, told what to do, when to shit, when to eat, to complete freedom. When you go into boot camp pretty much everyone breaks down from the new life style, stress, etc.. The same thing happens when you get out but not in a controlled environment. |
LOL most of the people I know from highschool who joined the military had mental issues BEFORE iraq.
Its not like the brightest people with the best futures signup to goto war. |
Wow awesome Statistic.
How about this one: 1 in 5 Canadians will experience living with a mental illness serious enough to impair functioning. That's 20% of all Canadians, not just those who have been in a combat zone. Amazing, no? |
Everyone who was on war should have some kind of mental problem because war is not an entertainment... The same we have here in Russia. I have a buddy has returned from Chechnya. Actually I knew him form school times. And I can admit he has changed a lot. He was I machine gun operator, and he has killed many people there. Course all of them were not civilians. They were TERRORISTS. But(!) it's always hard to kill someone even if he is a bad guy. And it's also hard to see your friend dieing on your eyes... The girlfriend of my buddy told me he still has nightmares, and screams when he is slipping. Actually it's not a matter of fun :(

Stupid assertions backed up by nothing? http://www.cpa-apc.org/Public/Action/mental.pdf http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/publicat/.../men_ill_e.pdf I'm a simple truth, put out by professionals, no more no less. Kind of puts your other statistics in perspective though, doesn't it? |

Quite odd since you claim to be Canadian according to your nick, and in another thread to be living in Costa Rica ... Hummmmm...... Quote:

This has happened in all wars, not just Iraq. It used to be called shell shock.
|
If 1/3 of the troops returning from Iraq develop mental disorders, the logical solution is to only bring home 2/3 of the troops. The remaining 1/3 will then NOT return to the U.S. and show signs of mental disorders.

Kind of like how you, a Canadian, take every opportunity to bash America. I've never once seen you make a post about problems in Canada, or the crooks we have in Ottawa. You'd think it would be more relevant to your life, yet you completely ignore it. I am Canadian, I am moving to Costa Rica. |

that's why mental health of soldiers must be given so much importance and monitoring given the amount of stress they are exposed to.

Is it really 1/3. I thought the exact number was 3/4, and that includes the Commander in Chief. :1orglaugh |
