Officially retiring my old computer : (
My 500mhz AMD computer finally kicked the bucket.
If you pass near my home you will hear the soft sound of taps playing. And one man, kneeling near the ground crying. The 1.5mhz Pentium that replaces it will never take its place :( |
chuck it out the window -- very therapeutic!
|
don't be sad. I can't wait to retire mine.
|
Sorry to hear that u had to lay ur baby to rest, i hope il never have to.. shes 2 years old and still running strong. 450mhZ faster than many 1ghz

pr0, I believe AMD K6s never die (550MHz here) but are reincarnated as Athlon XP 2000+s.
Pentium 4 system pr0??? ack! www.pricewatch.com |
well the k6 isn't dead...just not useable anymore, im just turning it into my personal pc.
the pentium 1.5 will be taking "work status" until i can get a new AMD 2ghz. :) God bless AMD's |
AMD just Rocks, I'm gonna change mine as well, old k6-2 at 400 Mhz, and it still kicks some ass, even with games and photoshop...
One more month and my old lady will be reborn as an athlon XP :) |

That would be a 2500+ model. *wink* *wink* With "QuantiSpeed" because DualSpeed is only half as fast... |
I'm tossing my Thunderbird 750mhz next week. ;) Actually, selling it to my parents, it still works good, I just need something a lot better than they do for my gaming addiction..
New PC -- Athlon XP 1800, 512mb DDR, Abit Kg7 mboard, Asus Geforce 3 Ti500 Pure 64mb, Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1, WD 60gb hard drive, Sony 52x cd rom. WOOOOO HOOOOO!! ;) I'm gonna spend a week tweaking it to turn into a real powerhouse. :thumbsup |
I'll retire my DELL when Intel/AMD finally comes out with a 3Ghz processor

i doubt you need to "tweak" that system....hahaha |
gees you guys make my PII 266 sound weak lol but then it is just a unix box anyway never gets much work. Right now I am using an Athlon 850 with 512 meg ram takes care of what ever I need it to do but I would like to get a 2 gig P4 with a gig of ram. guess I better get my hits up to 200

I'm getting the urge to toss my 1-Ghz CPU for a new 2-Ghz, motherboard, and new memory.
I'm amazed how long I've held onto this computer though. I've had it for a couple of years now, that's like a record for me for holding onto a computer. I did upgrade a few things in the system like video card and ram, but the processor is just feeling old to me, since I've had it for so damn long, he he. |
Ok i just now finished setting up this peice of shit Hewlet Packard.
Only took me an hour to get the NIC card to recognize on 2k. Computers that you don't put together yourself always suck. I'll have to remind myself of that next time. |
