Test Drove a C6 Vette (pics)
 

I took my my 2004 C5 Lemans edition into the dealer to have some maintance done to it and I decided to test drive a 2005 C6. Man i think it time to trade in the 2004 for a brand new one, Everything is better the handling, the accleration. Its a bad ass car overall.

if you want real "better handling" get a proper sports car ;)

other than that looks nice (tho deffy not my thing)

very nice! the c6 has the ls2 motor right? There was a great review on the c6 on top gear a while back.

I think the new vette looks sexy as hell. Was about time they stepped it up.

The Corvette is the best sportscar in the world for the money....

I have owned a viper....bucket or rocks...too hot and when you really get on it the AC shuts down....get a tad warm in the florida heat....

Also went through every ferrari from 328-355

and let me tell you..the corvette is the best bang for your buck!

If you have a problem picking up the ladies...check out the viper....otherwise....

Don't get me wrong I love the corvette (mainly due to the engine). But there are a tonne of cars out there that are as good if not better.

- monaro GTS or GTO (GTO in US)
- all HSV range
- plenty of turbo'd little burners like the GTR, impreza, 200sx to name a few.

c6 has leaf freakin springs!!! ffs what are we driving horse and carts??

c6 is a nice car but not the *best* plenty of cars out there could be bought cheaper and given a kick in the guts and leave the c6 in their wake.

Do I sense sarcasm? The top gear review I saw basically praised the C6 for going in a straight line better than most other cars, but spent the rest of the time taking shots at it's build quality and lack of handling prowess...

My friend has a 2003 Z06 factory convertible. Only one they ever did in the factory. Special order and knowing the right people helped but it is possible.

I like my C5, but the new one does look good. I've been thinking about trading it in. We test drove a new convertible a few months ago, but I may wait for the hype (and price) to come down. I'm cheap like that. :)

I would never own a Corvette. Total piece of shit when you campare it to other cars in its class and price range.

Pretty much anything European in its price range. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche. Lotus The shelf life alone makes it a piece of crap when comparing to anything European. The base models MSRP is 51k this year. Dress it up at all and you are at 60k on the car. Why?

I just cant justify the cost on a Vette, when I can buy a CLK Mercedes Convertable Coupe for 55k, drive it 300,000 miles without bating an eye. It might not do the 0-60 thing as fast, but its still sharp as hell and will last forever. The workmenship goes not even come cost in comparison.

I like yours better than that new one.

I have an 04 C5 Z51 package, ArcticWhite. I passed on the Z06 for the same reason, I had to have the removable top. I test drove a C6 too and I nearly drove it home. But I resisted. I got a great deal on my 04 when I bought it last summer. Plus I hear the 06 and 07 may have some nice options like a 6 speed auto. :thumbsup

I test drove a CLK 430 before buying the Corvette. The CLK was nice, but it didn't "fit" me. Maybe, as I get older I'll change over to classy more than sporty. But, right now I like the Vette. :winkwink:

the vette is more "vulgar and cheap" than sporty ;)

Hell its more muscle car than sports car :helpme
