If an affiliate made 75K last year, would you give them internext passes?

BV 07-30-2005 07:46 PM

Spunky 07-30-2005 07:46 PM

Hornydog4cooter 07-30-2005 07:46 PM

Dont feel bad i have never even got much as a thank you from the 2 sponsors i sent 2000 plus joins too :(

Theo 07-30-2005 07:47 PM

Doctor Dre 07-30-2005 07:54 PM

I'd certainly do that for my affiliate ! But if they do well for you ... and work for you when it's time ... that's what matters

DateDoc 07-30-2005 08:00 PM

If I was the program owner I'd tell you pick the show you want to go to, fly you in, put you up and give you a pass.

wargames 07-30-2005 08:00 PM

An affiliate making 75k from just one of their sponsors is making plenty enough bank to not even bother asking one of their sponsors for a free pass. I wouldn't anyway. Banging one of their models maybe but not a free show pass.

8-10 sales a day they should give you something anything. I would switch sponsors unless they where converting amazingly.

Oh and if it is nasty dollars dont get mad they dont give anybody anything unless its a nice check. Good luck brother and if i run into you at the show ill buy you some drinks. :thumbsup

yeah...if someone is making 75k from one sponsor, they can afford the shows, and shouldn't be asking for freebies

i would never do that personally, i would hate to be labeled a begger

It is really not beggin it is more about principle he works hard for the program all year sending them good quality traffic. All he wants in return is a little thank you. :thumbsup

WiredGuy 07-30-2005 08:25 PM

If you earned that much from a sponsor program AND they were attending, for sure. But if they aren't attending, its not so unreasonable to decline.

Jake 07-30-2005 08:29 PM

It's really strange how some programs treat their affiliates. Allie and I made nearly $400,000.00 one year with a very well known sponsor and we couldn't even get them to reply to our e-mails. That's one of the reasons we've made customer service (WEBMASTERS ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS WHEN YOU RUN A PROGRAM) a number one priority for NaughtyBank!

Start promoting us, for $25 K I'll even fly you there. My programmer may want to share a bed with you, but hey, can't complain all the time.

Sales reps get rewarded with bonuses in ever business except this.

now why is that?

You aren't a sales rep you're an independent contractor. You work for yourself. Sponsors DO pay to send their sales reps to shows - they are employees. They also get rewarded with bonuses :)

I was paid out more than $100K one year from a large and very well known sponsor and never dreamed of asking for a pass to any show. Never even got a Christmas card :winkwink:

If you ask a sponsor and they say "yes" then great. If they say "no" then it's really not that big a deal, IMHO.

Sly 07-30-2005 08:36 PM

If its a large program, it would probably set bad precedent. I would think a smaller program would be more than willing to accommodate you, like a few have mentioned already in this thread.

Exactly, I have the traffic, I should call the shots.

Am I generating sales for them? yes

Am I representing them? yes

hence the term sales rep.

It's a very serious offer. Plenty of time to get you hooked up for the Vegas show!

AmeliaG 07-30-2005 08:46 PM

If Internext passes were what would make a really good affiliate happy, of course, if they asked. Then again, who wants to facilitate a good traffic source catting around with other sponsors. :winkwink:

Unless you wanted to go to the show and make deals for the program, you aren't representing them. You are selling them traffic and sales. You are a client of there's. They are a client of yours.

Did you send them a Christmas card or a thank you note for all of the good business you do together?

shermo 07-30-2005 08:51 PM

If I had an affiliate like that, I'd be more than willing to set him/her up with whatever it is they need. Be it show passes, accomidations, etc.. Keeping your key players happy should be any porograms #1 desire. Without them, your income wouldn't be what it is.

there are TONS of programs out there that offer "rewards"....just look through at least 3 top sponsoirs on here and you will find one

fact is,you chose to sign up with them knowing there wasn't a rewards system in place

sponsors make it very known to the public if they offer rewards or not...and when someone who doesn't offer rewards comes along and suddenly gives you one,say thank you, but don't bitch when someone you have known all along NOt TO give rewards, still doesn't

webgurl 07-30-2005 09:17 PM

i get free passes to internext and i send their programs zero
or very little .

pr0 07-30-2005 09:18 PM

Pete-KT 07-30-2005 09:26 PM

Welcome aboard. :)

webgurl 07-30-2005 09:28 PM

it kinda depends though i suppose i guess if they had a bunch of affilates asking them for a pass that sends realtively around the same $$ bracket it may be difficult to give them to all . Sidenote, I would do it though :)

difficult to hook someone up that probably made you ATLEAST 75k in profit? :1orglaugh

this is the entertainment business, it lives on kickbacks....

I highly doubt the sponsor made anywhere near $75k in profit. Rev-share wouldn't clear that and I think Fred is talking about PPS here, which is much less.

$75k a year at $35 per join is 6 sales a day. Six sales a day is nothing to shake off, but unless Fred is one of the top affiliates in that program, I doubt they'll be sucking his dick.

Forkbeard 07-30-2005 09:36 PM

About the time I got to the point with my top sponsors that I knew my traffic was especially valuable to them, I was also to the point in income where it would be silly to ask them for stuff -- anything reasonable I could afford myself without pain, so why bother?

Now having said that, the sponsor where I earn the most money has bought me a couple of *very* nice meals and sent me a few nifty gifts, as tokens (and they were just tokens) of appreciation. Nice touch and warm fuzzy, but hardly necessary.

I am surprised that more sponsors don't send out branded swag -- T-shirts and stuff -- because that's always fun and is something that's otherwise unavailable.

75k at PPS with a nice shave, is more like 100k.....you're right thanks for correcting me

but lets say he even made them 30k, is that a joke or something?
