Sorting content (picking out every 8th image automatically)
Now that's a specific topic...
I just bought 20 photo series (2.400 images) to use for galleries. Now, as you know - these series of about 120 images each, are usually named 001, 002, 003 etc., but that's not really perfect for gallery posting. The first couple of galleries would contain nothing but clothed girls, while the last few would be all hardcore. What do you guys and girls usually do, when you just need to pick out 15 shots for a gallery? I wrote a small perl script, that copied every 8th (120 images divided by 15 = 8) file, but it wasn't very effective. Help me out here... I can't do 160 galleries by hand. |

Yes, but it appears that my perl skills are somewhat limited. It spewed out odd numbers each round (i.e. first 16, then 12, then 7).
I wouldn't mind paying for it, if someone wrote a good(!) solution for this. Hit me up on ICQ if you are interested :helpme |
Let me guess your ICQ 12345678? 87654321?

Actually, it's in my profile: 109615467.
You, however - are already in my list, so hit me up if you want to help me :) |
Phill - if you already have sorted one img set in one dir, before you get that script you might try doing this: select "large icons" type of view, set your window width setting so there are only 8 icons in one row, and select icons with your mouse - vertically, by columns. That should make every 8th file marked. Then just Ctrl+X, make a new dir, and paste.
Not nearly good solution as the script, but does save time.. |
Phil stick with your nick name "Phoz"
