What blog software do you use ...

I use Wordpress, like 90% of the webmasters, because it's easy and fast :)

B2BwithJoeD 07-30-2005 05:51 AM

We're using Expression Engine from www.pmachine.com on www.kblogger.com. It's working pretty well for us - about 70 bloggers now, so depends on your goals.

quantum-x 07-30-2005 06:09 AM

rolled my own.

I tried a half-dozen or more scripts, including a couple of commercial ones. I settled on Wordpress partly because it has so much community support there is nothing I have wanted to do (so far) which hasn't been doable. I seriously doubt any of the commercial scripts have near as much development going on as Wordpress fans generate collectively.

Wordpress code is also very transparent. Which makes it easy to modify, whether for design changes or for tweaking functionality. And that's from the point of view of someone who is fairly strong on CSS but only so-so with PHP.

pawsregd 07-30-2005 06:26 AM

phpnuke is what I use and I find it to be very good. Very customizable with a ton of support forums. It also has quite a few hacks that you can add on very easily.

Trax 07-30-2005 06:59 AM

i use boastmachine
like it better than WP

I like Wordpress because it's easy to setup and use and there's a large community of people for support and plugins.

I was curious about using PHP nuke myself. It's an idea I considered and I'm not sure what the down sides might be. Any more information on this?

Security is a big issue, if you consider PHP-nuke, you might want to take a look at mamboserver - there is also a build in blog in that script, and its also free

Jace 07-30-2005 03:15 PM

i have been using b2evolution, just because I can run 3 seperate blogs on 3 seperate domains, all from one control panel...fucking kicks ass

it may lack a few features here and there, but the multiple blogs on multiple domains thing rocks my shit

I'm a big fan of wordpress, running several sites (both adult and mainstream) off it. It's free and easy to tweak and hack apart to do your bidding.

Miguel T 07-31-2005 04:26 AM

WordPress is the best! ;)

MrLeone 07-31-2005 04:30 AM
