So, I live in the middle of nowhere..
And I got all these fucking rednecks outside stringing and burying fiber-optic lines. Apparently one of the local telcos is bringing a cheaper alternaive to the shit cable tv they have here now, AND stringing it all over the county. It's a very rural county, total population maybe 7,000. The local rednecks are even gonna get DSL if they want it. Even in the outlying parts of the county. Dunno what kinda cable theyre bringing but I asked one of the guys installing the lines what kinda price and speeds for the DSL. $50 a month and 750k/downstream. Hmmm that might be a bargain for the uninformed that only have ever had dialup, but im sure most of the fish will go fit it cause that blazing fast for someones whos never had cable OR DSL. I told the guy I already get 1500 downstream and 250 up cheaper than that. He just kinda looked at me and said I was lucky lol As far as the cable tv goes, I forgot to ask him if theyre gonna offer cable modems, but I doubt it. Besides, my DSL contract isnt up till October and my DirecTv isnt up till January.
Oh yeah Click my sig :thumbsup |

Middle of Nowhere, KY |
I live in the middle of nowhere but a certain ex-president has a house in my neighborhood. That made them put a POP right outside the subdivision and we have DSL :) That and it's a little Mom and Pop telephone company and everyone's rural so they didn't spend money getting it to the "populated" areas first.
I moved here 4 years ago from one of the supposedly wealthiest zips in the Atlanta burbs and wouldn't have gotten DSL there for another year or so - I'm happy :) |

He spoke at a garden club meeting for our HOA recently and they reported 2 of his SS agents were there with him. They're also seen around town since they work 8 hour shifts and then have to find something to do beside sleep the rest of the time :) They were here in FULL FORCE for about 2 weeks after 9/11. I don't think he was here, but maybe one of his relatives was. He's had his house here forever. Several of his SS agents have retired and bought homes in our neighborhood too. |
Amazing that 20 some years after he was in office that hes still got enough secrets in his head that he's gotta be watched 24/7 No wonder they call em the most powerful men in the world. :)

We live on the edge of a village out in the farmlands. Wake up to the sound of cockrels and they're harvesting wheat in the fields at the end of our road.
We have cable for the TV but had to cancel the Internet connection. Every night at 8.00 we would get cut off and the weekends were a nightmare. I reckoned we got bumped because we were at the end of the line. LOL |
Last nite my landlord invited me to trap shoot with him and his son out in the back yard. Well... in the field behind my house.. Same field where i see deer and turkeys all the time. Cant see that in the city. :) Very few folks shooting trap in the city either I guess.
