SEO help. can anybody tell me why my keywords are not showing up on yahoo???

i am trying to get a hang of this SEO science. my main keywods "onion booty"
are no longer showing up on yahoo's first query page. can anybody help?

WiredGuy 07-27-2005 07:45 PM

I wish it was a clear and cut answer, but its not. It's an art as much as its science, each search engine is a constantly moving target.

should have traded hard links with folks a long time ago. I couldn't imagine not being on the first page for my own fucking name.

dopeman 07-27-2005 08:12 PM

yahoo just underwent a major update that fucked A LOT of people.

warlock5 07-27-2005 08:15 PM

Its definately not a science. I have lots of page, they all get drasticly different levels of traffic from the different engines.

Wolfy 07-27-2005 08:31 PM

come now, of course it's science. Just very slippery science :D

slapass 07-27-2005 08:32 PM

Your site is penalized in Yahoo. Could be temp as the last change nailed lots of sites.

pornguy 07-27-2005 08:33 PM

I think that the best pointer was just given by WG. Which is something that he does not do often. He said that it is a moving target. Which can be translated that there is no one answer, and you just need to keep working at it.

You need the latest version of flapjacks installed on your server.

Also, being a stockholder helps sometimes.

No No No - Getting shafted by an search engine just when you think you have it all figured out is not fucking bizzarre.

I just got all my pages (okay, except for 2) dropped from the Yahoo index. No idea why. No spam, no blackhat, no reason for it to happen: They had 200+ pages a few weeks ago. Tech support (hah) has been, so far, of little assistance.

Sosa 07-27-2005 10:19 PM

I did great with the last big yahoo update. Many #1 listings for one of my sites that has a lot of keyword pages. The traffic on the site is 90% yahoo and it is converting great. I'm pretty much sure the site is sandboxed by google though so that sucks.

secret: some freehost in the DK was used in a se spamming project in Yahoo... they had to delete normal looking sites to combat it while they go through and un-do the shit that company caused.

That's just my guess from surfing my serps... 2cents
