100% Revshares.. Worth the trouble?
you guys that push the revshare model find the 100% models worth your time..
i found that no one really gave a crap about revshare when I offered it.. but rather pushed the PPS.. any thoughts on it? |
depends on how long you retain members. I have always made more with PPS then I have with revshare. If a program offers both I will mix it up and I always do better with PPS
|
ive seen it done a few times, and it never works out

why? ..... |
Don't bother wasting your time really, you won't get too many affiliate programs to send through revshare and the big whales usually go for the PPS.

get your money up front while the getting is good. no charge backs, no refunds, no % splits. alot less headaches. i find if i can get 30-50 a sign up from sponsors for trial joins we both make money and are happy. |

i know the game.. but was thinking of flirting with a 100% rev program... |
If you came up with a 100% revshare program I would push it...
Unless the membership was free or very low.... |

like free trials would not work? or would it have to be 25-30 up front? |
I prefer revshare for most sites (if they look like they'll retain decently - most 'reality' and HC sites do not)
Actually what I would like to find is a program that offers revshare, no trial options, and a discounted monthly rebill. By this I mean a site that for instance charges $35 the 1st month then $9.95 or so each following month. It would only be $5/rebill on revshare but the site would probably retain like nothing else. Those $5 rebills would add up faster by getting alot more recurring memberships than the sites trying to get another full membership fee ($35 or whatever) every month for only a handfull of updates. I think most people are going to think you're screwing them if you charge them the same amount for an additional 4 updates or whatever that they paid to see the entire archive the first month. I don't know why this hasn't been tried by any of the big programs (maybe it has and has failed?) but is seems like it would generate alot more money in the long term than the usual tactic of hoping the customer forgets they're being charged or trying to keep them interested enough to pay the full amount next month after they bust a nut. |
