so is .tv for the country Tuvali or is it short for television? I see it advertised more and more as a television domain.

it is television lol and it is Tuvalu

Tuvali sold their rights to that domain and allowed to advertise it an a global domain, although theoretically it's still just a country code domain

i think that is for a tv domain.
