SilverTab 07-26-2005 10:45 PM

BIGTYMER 07-26-2005 11:03 PM

I guess I have less to worry about then. ;)

PixeLs 07-26-2005 11:38 PM

Thanks for doing what is right when I was still a baby dad.

Pim(P) 07-27-2005 12:29 AM

Interesting news

Mefo 07-27-2005 12:31 AM

so how did they test this?

candyflip 07-27-2005 01:05 AM

Schmegma. Is that how you spell it?

That's all I can think about when I think "uncircumsized".

AdultNex 07-27-2005 08:17 AM

Bah, my parents didn't want me to get circumsized since a baby goes through excruciating pain during the circumcision process. :(

infecto 07-27-2005 08:30 AM

I thought this was already known.

PenisFace 07-27-2005 08:37 AM

Or.... You could just use a condom, and not mutilate your penis...

HarrytheNazi 07-27-2005 08:40 AM

could save Africa.

Yep... I shudder to think what I am missing. The doctor who gave me a circumcision is in my kill list.

Bertran Auvert of the French National Research Agency INSERM and colleagues tested more than 3,000 uninfected men aged 18-24 South Africa's Guateng province, where 32 percent of adults are infected.

Some of the men were circumcised at the start of the trial while others had the procedure after 21 months. At the end of the trial, researchers registered 69 HIV cases, and only 18 of them were in the men who were circumcised at the start.

Must suck to be them...

tASSy 07-27-2005 08:49 AM

it's an interesting argument, but i've also read other studies saying that being uncircumsized does not impact cleanliness regarding infection since soap and such has come so far since say, the middle ages. i'm torn. no pun intended.

Fetish Gimp 07-27-2005 08:58 AM

I'd think wearing a rubber would probably be a better strategy.

warlock5 07-27-2005 09:53 AM

The circumcised men were 65 percent less likely to become infected with the deadly and incurable virus. Thats a hell of alot more than a "may." -- thats cutting your chances in half. If you are gay, or at risk for AIDS you are insane not to be uncircumcised!

By the way, I posted this same story a few weeks ago.

They actually cut this thing short because the results were so drastic.

I agree with this:

"It is a very sensitive issue, and not just biologically," said UNAIDS chief scientific adviser Catherine Hankins, adding that circumcision should only be used as part of a package of preventive measures such as the use of condoms and behavioral changes to limit the number of sexual partners.

People, including plenty in this industry, just don't take the issue very seriously, and thats exactly why infection rates explode.

Digibucks 07-27-2005 10:00 AM

im glad my MOM gets me circumsized early :)

alexg 07-27-2005 10:34 AM

its called washing your fucking dick.

why the hell would you ever be circumsized?

condoms = less chance of aids

the study is pure bullshit.

Circumcision is a primitive ritual for religious freaks.... :P

seriously though...
I've been with my GF for a while and to be honest...i'm not worried about HIV...
Sure this discovery could be an important one to help out the AIDS crisis in Africa, but I don't see how it can be useful to me...
According to the article it's effective in like 60% of the cases....NewsFlash: Condom is 99.999% effective...
but obviously if it helps lower the growing number of aids cases in africa then great!..

Hygiene seems to be the most powerful argument of peoples who are cut...

I've even read some people saying: "I'm cut, so at least my penis doesn't smell bad"

What the fuck does that mean? I wash everyday and I smell good...everywhere... Does it mean that, if I were cut I could go longer without washing my dick and it wouldnt smell?? How fucked up is that...I'm not interested LOL

there's also the argument that girls seem to like it better when it's cut

i guess it's true if you are in a country where a good % of men are cut...

up here in canada i'd say 90% of my friends are uncut, and those who were circumcised, were for medical reasons...

my GF never even saw a cicumcised dick...

and quite frankly...when your dick is hard, you can barely see a difference...(and if you aint hard when it's time for action well you have a bigger problem on your hands than your foreskin LOL)...

I'm really not that much FOR or Against circumcision...I just think it's not that big of a deal honestly...(and I also find the hygiene argument to be quite ridiculous....if you don't wash your tool everyday, you suck plain and simple)

exactly, why on earth would i remove my foreskin and get less feeling on my cock?

it makes no fucking sense at all, only people with a fucked up religion or stupid enough to follow their parents' footsteps would do the same to their child.

i dont need to "make my dick look bigger", is it true that jewish men really do have small penises' and this is why they get it done?

The Pros and Cons
On the plus side, studies indicate that circumcised infants are less likely to contract a urinary tract infection (UTI) in the first year of life. About one out of every 1,000 circumcised boys has a UTI in the first year, whereas the rate is one in 100 (at most) for uncircumcised infants.

Circumcised men may also be at lower risk for penile cancer, although the disease is rare in both circumcised and uncircumcised males. Although some studies indicate that the procedure might offer an additional line of defense against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), particularly HIV, the results of studies in this area are conflicting and difficult to interpret.

It's also easier to keep a circumcised penis clean, although uncircumcised boys can learn how to clean beneath the foreskin once the foreskin becomes retractable (usually some time before age 5). However, some uncircumcised boys can end up with infected foreskins as the result of poor hygiene.

Some people also claim that circumcision either lessens or heightens the sensitivity of the tip of the penis, decreasing or increasing sexual pleasure later in life. But neither of these subjective findings has been proven to be true.

Although circumcision appears to have some medical benefits, it also carries potential risks - as does any surgical procedure. These risks are small, but you should be aware of both the possible advantages and the problems that can be associated with the procedure before you make your decision. Complications of newborn circumcision are uncommon, occurring in between 0.2% to 3% of cases. Of these, the most frequent are minor bleeding and local infection, both of which can be easily treated by your child's doctor.

Mike Okitch 07-27-2005 04:11 PM

I was just thinking about this.

"Several studies have suggested that men who are circumcised have a lower rate of
HIV infection. This has been especially noticeable in some parts of Africa, where some groups are routinely circumcised while neighboring groups are not."

Wouldn't this over time lead to massive circumcisions in some groups? Consequently, wouldn't this lead to some major case of discrimination? I can just imagine the consequences of a study like this being circumcisions made not based on medical evidence but on racial/geographical profiling just because someone happens to be from a "high risk" area.

Antonio 07-27-2005 05:48 PM

Since I live in South Africa, I am going to tell you the truth and nothing but the truth:

Does circumcision cure ignorance and stupidity? No? Then it's not going to make a difference.....

pigman 10-31-2006 06:51 PM

I can understand why, since the skin on a circumcised penis would be stronger. But then again, this do not prevent anything so it doesnt matther.

You can still get HIV first time you fuck unprotected, circumcised or not.

CaptainHowdy 10-31-2006 07:18 PM

I gotta get me one of those then...

pornguy 10-31-2006 07:22 PM

skinnay 10-31-2006 09:36 PM

AIDS is made up anyway

potter 10-31-2006 09:40 PM

anyone who thinks an extra flappy layer of skin hanging off your dick increases the risk of AIDS is a moron.

BusterBunny 10-31-2006 09:41 PM

i glued my foreskin back on like a leatherface mask

Kimo 10-31-2006 11:04 PM
