Mail-in rebates
 

have you ever looked at some of the weird places in the US that these rebates get sent to? the batch i sent out this month went to:

Calais, ME

Young America, MN

White Bear Lake, MN

Niagra Falls, NY

i've at least heard of Niagra Falls obviously, but it seems strange that rebates go to such obscure parts of the country... an idea why?

i quit shopping at best buy a long time ago....so it's been awhile

i bought a $100 mouse, it broke every 2 weeks...after the 3rd time i brought it in the manger accused me of doing it on purpose

so i started kicking over display cases & knocking over cart stacks......i'm guessing i'm not allowed back

actually none of those are from BestBuy - i learned a while ago they charged double what things cost on the web

I hate mail in rebates ... I always forget to send the fuckers

they probably get tax discounts for having business there as they are smaller and have high unemployment rates.

Fulfillment centers in the middle of nowhere can usually get staffing for cheaper I imagine. Like if you were to hire a fulfillment center in Toronto versus PEI, I bet the cost would be less in somewhere like PEI (assuming there were people who could do the job there). I imagine this is why my federal tax returns get sent out to PEI instead of Ottawa.
