Anyone here live in Houston?
Thinking about moving to Houston from Kansas City. Looking in the Champions/Willowbrook area. Anyone with thoughts or opinions about living in Houston?
|
I grew up in Houston. I love the city but I got the hell out of there when I turned 18. Too damn hot and too damn big. Champions/Willowbrook is very far away from downtown. That city is huge. Most people have no idea just how damn big Houston is. It is the 4th largest city in terms of population and it goes on forever.
If you want to live in the suburbs then North Side is probably the way to go. What is your lifestyle like and what are your priorities? |
He's right.... that area is pretty nice... but far from Downtown...
It's hot and big... but you'll like it. |
I agree with JJ Gold...check out the North West area of Houston. Mainly The Woodlands (near Spring). I lived there for a year and it was pretty sweet.

I'm a native of Houston (Go Texans! :thumbsup )
Willowbrook/Champions area is nice; I had an apt in that part of town many years ago (FM 1960 got way too busy for me). But BiggleJones is right about the Spring/Woodlands area, yes it is far from downtown, but it's a nice/peaceful place to live. Anya |
dont know much about that area, i havent lived in houston for long and i live on the south side.... moving to midtown soon though.
|
COOL! Thanks for the info guys. I will definitely look into Spring & Woodlands. I think those areas are about what Champions was like 15 years ago. Seems like they're a little more laid back and not quite so over-developed.
We're not really THAT interested in being close to downtown. May head down for a baseball game once in a while, but the burbs lifestyle fits us pretty well....except on Friday & Saturday when we're always looking for a Swingers club or something. Anyone have the lowdown on best swingers clubs or titty bars in HTOWN? |

I used to tear it up at Caligula XII at least 4 nights a week. I haven't been in quite a few years so I don't know what the scene is like nowl Houston has more strip clubs per capita than any place on the planet. The Mens Club is always solid for an upscale scene. |

I live here -- I hate it. Hot, humid, no breeze in the summer and the traffic is rediculously insane :2 cents:

And West Loop/290 traffic is the worst in the country. It's absurd and I work in the Loop and live off 290 LOL |
I lived in Dallas for a few years and travelled to Houston a lot.... Although Dallas is a large city Houston is too big... The traffic is so bad and it's really hot and humid... plus the bugs are even bigger in Houston then they are in Dallas...lol

I hope to be back in Houston next Spring for the Rockets playoff run. :thumbsup

Hmmmm. Hotter than hell. Big bugs. Awful traffic. But a shitload of titty bars. Hmmmm...
|
Houstonian here....
forget the tit bars, the women here are incredible and friendly. move inside the loop or galleria area....the traffic will kill you otherwise. |

For business class, head to St. James in North Houston. A lot more laid back, girls charge per dance, good treatment outside the VIP room. ...but damn the Treasures girls are hot. [take my advice: it is easier on the wallet to head to a bar downtown/midtown with some jack and buy every thing that purrs a drink] |
Mercury club is a happening place. :thumbsup
|
Besides being HUGE, Houston is humid as heck .. almost as bad as Florida
Definately check the Woodlands area, its absolutely gorgeous swingers are in full swing in Houston, don't sweat that one lol |
