    Anyone have Window Tint?

    What percentage do you have, and if you could change it, would you? and to what?

    I have been looking around on the net, I want to tint my windows basically to protect some stuff inside, but Tint on a Car that's Alpine White? Hard to pull off ugh. Nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find examples on the net too. Checked lots of forums and cardomain ugh.

      Go with the silver/mirror - that's what I have on a silver car, looks good on light color cars. 20% all around

          theres a law in canada what % you can get on the front and the side.

                  I have 5% black.. took a few days to get used to driving at night, but i love it, its dark as fuck.. if i could change it, which i plan on doing soon, ill get 2 layers of 2.5% and my whole windshield done 10%

                  i do a lot of fucking and weed smoking in my car.. its good to have windows so dark that you can just pull over in any public parking lot and go at it

                                              I don't like the silver tint. I think the black looks better. Hubby's Suburban is all black with black windows. The stock tint was somewhat dark, but there was no stock tint on the front two windows. He had 10% (I think) added to all the windows, so the front two are a shade lighter than the rest. You can see out at night, but it's not real easy.

                                              I don't have tint on my car. I have a red Corvette with a tan convertible top, and it would look funny if it was tinted, in my opinion.

                                                  I found a guy that did a dark medium all the way around on my car, looks great. Just look for someone that will do that for you. That way you dont get the dark in the back and then the light in the front. Just make sure not to go limo tint and use medium all around.

                                                      Yeah tint doesnt work too well on a red car either.. 10% is pretty strong, 5% is "limo tint" 10% would be very hard to see out at night and illegal.

                                                      and for people that dont know tint..

                                                      Lower The Number = The darker.

                                                          are you talking radio wise? i dont have tint now and if i have anything worth something at all i put it in the trunk when i go somewhere.

Had my window smashed once for my radar detector (all they saw was the clip on the window, the detector was hidden, oh yeah, they found it anyways haha) So I'am a tad paranoid.                                                                                       fyi the % represents visability... the lower the number, the less visability, generally speaking that would mean darker, but not necessarily =]

                                                                                          I put limo tint on my car and a couple of times jackoffs on the streets have actually put their faces right up to my windows to try to see inside -- WHILE the car was running!!!!!

                                                                                          I guess it is just part of pathetic human nature to want to see what is going on inside a car that has dark tint.

                                                                                                  The tint on this pic looks good to me, can't see through it. Whichever route you go, don't get the silver tint, they look horrible on cars.

                                                                                                          For normal cars, 35% back three and 50% front two
                                                                                                          For VIP cars, 20% all around

                                                                                                          Why the difference? Around here, tinted front windows are illegal. Only expensive cars will get away with tinted fronts

                                                                                                                          I would go with 5% all on rear and sides. Maximum privacy, keeps the car cool if its in the sun, and with a white car, the darker contrast will look better/cleaner then a mirror tint or trying to use a lighter tint.

                                                                                                                                      I have a blck suburban and just got mine tinted this week as dark as legal. 20% on the back and 30% on the front. The back already had darker windows so it looks pretty tight!

                                                                                                                                      I had 5% on all windows on an old car of mine before. it was very tough to see out of at night.. and I have great 20/15 vision!

                                                                                                                                                          Adam's Suburban is pretty dark... you can't see in at all. He's never had a problem, and we're in Tampa. Just lucky, maybe.

I actually received a ticket for the tint on window some years ago. Apparently too dark, and was also not done right in some way or another.

                                                                                                                                                                      you can get the front window tinted if you get a doctors note. my friend went i think to the eye doctor and told him he gets migrane headaches from the sun and they write you a thing and you cant get a ticket for your tint.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      I know coz I tried that myself. I got my optometrist to sign and certify that I get headaches from sunlight and the cop just laughed.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      a) You need to send that note into your DMV and get them to issue you an official letter.
                                                                                                                                                                                                      b) The cop will tell you to wear sunglasses!
                                                                                                                                                                                                      c) The cop will issue you a ticket and tell you to dispute it if you have a problem.
