Hey Microsoft! Fuck You!
so, everyone remember when i first moved to the beach from glendale?
well, long story short, i had to stay in these executive suites for about a month. 23 days exactly. the place had dial up. i ordered microsoft dial up for 30 days free, if you cancel within 30 days. not only did i cancel on the 24th day of the trial, i called them to make sure. might i add that cancelling anything microsoft basically requires you to be a detective. its purposely confusing. the point of this story. i have several bank accounts for different things. i have been getting billed by them for 4 months still. 29.95 a month. 1) i call visa. they say i can't charge it back. they say i have to take it up with microsoft. 2) i call microsoft. after years on hold wasting my time, i'm told that its cancelled. 3) microsoft tells me to go back and talk to visa. WTF? i'm going back to linux for life! fuck microsoft.   |
i miss Mike Rowe soft
|
Visa always takes care of me in a bind like that. I am suprised they handled you like that. I would call again and let them know micro said they cancelled. Good luck! :2 cents:
|
We just went through the same thing with them, it's a fuckin nightmare to deal with these assholes. We eventually had to have the bank reverse the charges.
Worst part of it is we never signed up for the dial-up shit, it was some other cross-sell or promotion they were doing that required a credit card for identity verification. M$ took it upon themselves to start hitting the card for the dial-up service. |
That sucks, why didnt you call them after the first month you got billed

i'm more pissed at the hoops that you have to jump through to cancel with them. if it were an adult site and you had to search so hard to figure out how to cancel, (not referring to the old days) visa would fuck you so hard. because its microsoft they can make it hard to cancel. thats what pissed me off. took me forever to weed through the B.S. and misleading terminology to cancel. |

     well, i cancelled on the 24th day. if you do that it isn't supposed to start billing at all. thats why i used it, because i knew that i could use it for free, cancel, and not get billed at all. fucking assclowns. |
Big corporation equals liscense to steal. Verizon just shafted me for 300 bucks :(
|
I'm not sure if this is what you were on, but I just found this:
MSN Microsoft Network: MSN only accepts cancellations by phone at 1-800-386-5550 |

thats what i ended up with eventually 4 months ago too. they suck, bottom line. when i was cancelling they tried to upsell me to 10000 things which i eventually became irrate and told them off. grrrrr.... |
AOL's just as bad, if not worse...
The lady would not cancel my account. I kept telling her that I didn't like how instrusive the software is, how crappy their techsupport is, how unreliable the connection was, etc, and she still kept telling me to try all the features. Even said over the phone "I see you haven't ran our special tools, like the spyware program and Firewall tools"... How nice... they sit there and monitor everything you do with their shit software. Anyways, I got talked into some 6 month thing and I feel within the next month or so I'm just going to waste an entire day getting this shit reversed and taken off... Sorry to hear about your troubles man. This should be illegal. |
