Political realities move on, so NORAID isn't relevant to very much these days except perhaps to illustrate Americans' woeful lack of knowledge about the world around them.

But back when IRA bombs were going off in London on a more or less regular basis, you wouldn't expect us to find it offensive that a major part of IRA fund-raising was being done openly in the US?

One thing I recall in favor of GW's father is that he froze Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams out of all official engagements and basically killed his fund-raising efforts. In the mid-90's Clinton had invited Adams to the White House, putting US-UK relations at a new low, such that the then British Prime Minister refused even to speak to Clinton for a while.
