Well if you are going to ban smoking and cell phones in the name of "safety" then you need to ban the other stuff. Trying to eat or drink is probally MORE distrating than smoking actually. In fact trying to adjust the radio probally cause more accidents than all those other things combined. Talking to someone riding with you in the car is probally just as distracting as using a cell phone. So ban talking in cars too. Noisy kids in the back seat is VERY distracting so ban kids from riding in cars unless they are muzzeld.

I do find it ironic that get a blowjob while driving is still perfectly legal.

jukeboxfrank 07-24-2005 08:49 PM

New Jersey has a law for everything That is why I moved. Shit hole of a state.

tristan_D 07-24-2005 08:49 PM

I think that's kinda unfair, a car is your space so why would they intrude in it.

As Bush would say it's for you own safety. Terrorist might have put anthrax in the tobacco. What's the point of freedom is your are not 100% safe anyways? What, do you think life and freedom involves RISKS?

J-$ 07-24-2005 11:06 PM

I say Canada is becoming more and more the land of the free instead of the US. thats too bad. here we get high as we want drunk as we want and let nature take care of the rest :upsidedow

reynold 07-24-2005 11:16 PM

What could be wrong about talking on the phone if you have the ear piece on?

je_rome 07-24-2005 11:31 PM

these lawmakers have nothing sensible in mind anymore.

should be illegal to be a moron too - we can dream, cant we? ban elderly drivers who cant see and/or cant move, then well talk about the rest of the stuff.

VirtuMike 07-25-2005 01:06 AM

If nobody drove cars, there would be 32,000 fewer accidents linked to distraction. Let's make cars illegal in the name of protecting people. Also kerosene heaters can fall over and start a fire so let's get rid of them. And Big Macs contain cholesterol which causes heart attacks so let's make those illegal.

Supposedly their studies show that being distracted with a hands-free call is not significantly different than the distraction while holding the phone. Therefore GatorB was correct, they must ban talking to passengers :upsidedow
