Started watching MTV again

after a few years and my first thought was ...

Where is the 2257 info and where is the warning page. :1orglaugh

Some of those videos have more porn in them than some of my sites.

wedouglas 07-24-2005 12:47 AM

Watch the videos later at night on 'After Hours'. Nothing but hot chicks dancing in g-strings and black rappers rapping about how much money they make, how much gold they have in their mouths and around their necks, and how much booty they get -- Just the kind of message I know I want my kids to get. :1orglaugh

Middle of the night - they are on how.

As much as the lyrics disturb me, I have to admit that some of the the beats are sweet and some of the tunes kinda make me horny.

MTV's days are numbered. Fuse is setting themselves up to be the premiere music tv station for mainstream America within the next 5 years is my estimate. Maybe sooner.

Then there's Total Request Live, which isn't even broadcast live. I'd bet my last dollar that the show is rigged and that fan votes mean nothing. I think they use TRL to promote certain bands they think they can make the most money off of.

Most of their reality shows are staged too. Most painfully obvious being Date My Mom. When everyone talks it's unnatural, and you can tell they are reading it from a card.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing them fall into the toilet, I don't think they're going anywhere soon. It is not easy dethroning the king. Just as Letterman.

BIGTYMER 07-24-2005 01:18 AM

MTV blows.

No argument. I like VH1 much better. At least you get some classic rock over there.

Fuse already has a stronghold over MTV on the punk rock / emo music categories and the people who follow it. This is an important factor since it's the first time in decades that MTV doesn't have control over the biggest music scene in the US.

Punk is the biggest music scene in America? I thought it was hip hop. Look at the BB hot 100.

Sure, if you want to go by album sales alone.

But the fact of the matter is that hip hop begins and ends with the sale of the album. People buy them to listen to in the car, and that's the extent of their involvement.

I bet you like punk and hate hip hop. Album sales are what have always driven the music industry. Per4sonally, I like both genres. I like all forms of music. As long as you have good music, good lyrics, and a good melody/rhythm/beat, anything can sound good.Genres are moore about moods than anything else.

I stick with Fuse and VH1Classic for my music video fix, VH1 for my nostalgia/countdown/listing fix, MTV2 for Headbanger's Ball and Wonder Showzen, then MTV for Cribs and Pimp My Ride
