He's retiring.

Jan Ulrich finished 2nd to lance 4 times..... if Lance had died of cancer Jan would be one of 3 guys to win 5 Tours (he won in 1997). Wonder how that guy feels lol.

The Tour isn't something you say you will retire from and then do not.
Cycling is too grueling of a sport to stay on top, you can't even compete with consistency at a world class level until you are into your 30's. It takes that much maturity.
The riders in the tour will all look like concentration camp victims by the end of the race. Damn!

I have watched all seven of his wins and none of his rivals was even close to catching him.

I think Ullrich would've never won the Tour that time, if Riis was in the position to ride his own race that year, instead of riding for Ullrich..

There's so many if's, think about Beloki falling and breaking his leg in 2003, he was good that year, and the only one that could give Armstrong a hard time..

Next year, watch Alejandro Valverde, Ivan Basso or Alexander Vinokourov... Ullrich doesn't stand a chance against these guys :2 cents:

Armstrong will definitely not come back. Team Discovery has signed there team for next year and he won't be with them.
