I don't get people sometimes.

My friend had her car go out so she calls me to ask about a tow truck, I tell her that I have AAA so if I come there AAA will tow it for free (that's why I have AAA). Well she insist she only has $48 so I tell her again that I'll call AAA but nope she wants to spend $75 on a tow and then she asked me to borrow the $27 well I don't get it so I let her do it how she wants I know I won't get the $27 back, not that I care but why would you pay that much when AAA will do it for free?

I have had AAA forever and thank goodness I never had to use it so I didn't feel like it would have been bad for me to call them. What do you think?

Many people like to do things the hard way and are stubborn. And they don't have an open mind to new ideas or concepts, or are not creative enough to think outside the box. Should make you realize why very few people are successful.

I just got hooked up with roadside assistance from Cingular as part of my cell bill.

Same features and benefits as AAA for $2.95 on my bill.

well...friends who lend 27$ and dont give it back arent exactly friends
may be you should beat the living shit out of her, or put a contract down on her head, or simply not hang around with people that are less fortunate and depend on u :2 cents:

It's not insurance fraud. AAA covers any car for their members, not just their OWN car. And it's not insurance, it's roadside assistance.
She should be more uncomfortable with not paying a friend back when they loaned her money, IMO. :2 cents:

All women who are not mechanically inclined should use that service

Okay then I'll just buy myself a AAA membership and advertise for people to call me when they need a tow truck. I'll use my AAA card to get it for free, and then only charge them $20!

Come on.

mardigras 07-23-2005 10:37 AM

Maybe she knows a cute tow truck driver :winkwink:

AAA Has NO PROBLEM with towing a car (or motorcycle) that is not yours, as long as you are present and have your card. You can even ask them on the phone if you wish.

You are NOT buying Towing Insurance for your car, you are buying Roadside Assitance.

If you want to charge people $20 for a tow, and then do it all the time, they will obviously cancel your membership, and I also believe you are only alloted a certain amount of miles, depending on the package you purchase, before they charge you.

AAA only tows your car for free for up to 5 miles, anything more than that costs $ per mile. unless you have a gold membership.
