Where are you from and how much is your electricity bill ?

I know we get some of the cheapest electricity arround the world ... Here in the summer it costs me arround 80-100 bucks a month (no AC most of the time ... I only ran it one day in the whole summer).

ry0t 07-22-2005 09:35 AM

Boston, with hottub, pool and a/c in the summer the bill was $140 in June.

candyflip 07-22-2005 09:35 AM

I'm in Rochester, NY. My bill was $68 this month.

I don't have central air and run a window unit during the day. PCs are running constantly.

Doctor Dre 07-22-2005 09:35 AM

In the winter it's more like 200 ...

that's for a mid sized house

Don't you guys have a really high provincial tax?

Ours is around $135 averaged out through the year, average sized home, hottub, lights on ALL the time because of our kids.

OldSchoolJim 07-22-2005 09:42 AM

DateDoc 07-22-2005 09:43 AM

CDSmith 07-22-2005 09:44 AM

I have two people living in separate units of my rental property, the electric bill is a steady $60 per month on the budget plan. Both units have A/C, both have 4 appliances, one has a jetted tub.

NaughtyAlysha 07-22-2005 09:49 AM

Holy shit... we live just east of Tampa, and our bill last month was $630 for our home. Of course, the kids are home for the summer, so the lights are on more often. We also have 2 A/C systems.

We don't pay electricity for our office, it's included in the lease.

Mrs. Lenny2 07-22-2005 09:49 AM

Here in Louisiana, with the A/C and PCs on 24/7, our monthly electric bill is approximately $240.

chase 07-22-2005 09:52 AM

Florida, (weeki wachee), and mine rines $100 without the heat or a/c, and $200 if heat or a/c are running most of the time. 1600 sq ft house.

davethetruth 07-22-2005 09:54 AM

For my 1 bedroom apt in LA it only costs about 40-50 a month in the summer with AC.

I think my meter has been off since I moved in. :)

That's what I'm trying to figure out ... why some states have crazy high electricity prices and others don't ...

crackerboy 07-22-2005 10:19 AM

we are around 70 bucks per month

gopsycho 07-22-2005 10:21 AM

I'm in Los Angeles, usually around 70-80 a month. Although with heat wave and all the AC it will probably be about 150-200 this month

GFX Wiz 07-22-2005 10:22 AM

Our bill was higher last month than usual. It's usually in the $500's, but I guess someone left the refrigerator door open last month :) . Last winter it was down in the mid $300's. We just built the house last year, so I can't tell if it's the same every year.

We keep the downstairs A/C unit on 78/79 during the day, 77 at night. The upstairs unit is 79/80 all the time.

I have 3,000sf, 2 Story, 4 bed, 3 bath with dual AC units. I am paying over $300 and you're paying $70 in Atlanta for comparable. I have hated Houston since the day I got here and now I hate it even more.

demented 07-22-2005 10:46 AM

Last bill was $93. Cincinnati.

We're in Memphis, electric usually runs us about 180 in the summer, that's for 2 a/c's one in the master bedroom and a central unit for the rest of the house. The pool pump runs 24x7 also. In the winter electric drops because our heat is gas and it's much cheaper.

Lace 07-22-2005 11:57 AM

Im in Maryland...Bill is usually $150+

toddler 07-22-2005 12:03 PM

San DIego, no heat, no AC. $160.

Amputate Your Head 07-22-2005 12:05 PM

Maui. No heat, and not running the A/C.... last month was $800

selena 07-22-2005 12:10 PM

Southern Indiana...average $75 per month year round

We (myself and 2 boys) esstentially go straight from heat (natural gas) to central air. It's too humid here to do much else. 1200 sq foot home.
