so i got some new black shoes. and i was wearing white socks... my brother insists that white socks should never be worn with black shoes.

is this true?

yah, it'll wear on the white socks leaving black blotches everywhere... and when you take your shoe off you'll look like an idiot

black socks I think is the standard, especially when you are wearing black shoes and dark pants. white socks will outcolor you pants and shoes.

I have 21 pairs of charcoal-grey socks. I have been buying the exact same style from Marks & Spencer for at least 30 years and I have no other socks. Each time I have to buy more I keep my fingers crossed that they haven't been discontinued, but thankfully it looks like they are going to see me out :)
