OkaySites is not adult. It is a directory, it just so happens that there is a sub-directory for adult sites.

leeches are "okay" but what you make from it is way more important.

Okay, you are the second person that has made a comment like that, so I have to ask, what do you mean?

This is a directory, it is not a top list. It is for link building. It is not meant to send "instant traffic." This is part of SEO.

Do you trade links? Or hope people will trade with you? Well, this is better because no recip is required.

Now, if you trade links for the sole purpose of the other party sending you massive traffic then you might want to re-think things.

If you trade links in an effort to raise your PR and SERPS, then you have to know this is not an instant gratification thing.

Again, all links on this directory are SE friendly.

I know it is difficult for some of you to grasp that someone might be willing to give you something for free, and for those of you that feel that way, you are more than welcome to wait a couple months at which point we will charge you to get listed.

I will not advise people to do that. .. it will be considered a linkfarm soon, and it will affect your google PR.

Only trade links with sites that have related content.. everyting else is bad in the long run

It would be pretty tough to not be related content as we have categories for everything.

why does adsense in entertainment->adult show public service announcements in *russian*? ;)

not against the rules, but you aint gonna get anything out of it. adsense has a list of banned keywords, mostly relating to sex and death, which when present on the page trigger the display of public service ads.

an yes - I look at the site, and my I suggest you fill out the metatags you have left blank?

The site is till good, but should not be sold as a way to boost google PR - it will not in the long run.

If you have the time, you can help it by writing a bunch of articles for each category, and link to them on the bottom of the page - that way the site actually have content, and will not be hit that hard

Directories are profitable in many other ways - paid spots, adsense, targeted traffic..

Well, there are a couple "ideas" that we have come up with, but the one that seems to make most sense is that it is possible that Google's ad bot has not gotten that deep yet, so it is throwing up free ads.

seems to be trivia questions at the moment. which star is the brightest? what are 'noms'? who first conquered mount everest? etc. it seems to like the 'nom' question, as it appears most frequently, no idea why - noms are supposed to have been government institutions in ancient egypt. something is seriously and amuzingly wrong with all of this ;)

you will never get anything except public announcements on pages which contain common sex-related terms, the issue is with them being in russian. google must think youre in mother russia, drinking vodka and building sites ;)

That was one of the ideas we came up with as well. Adult might trigger it.

whats so great about this site? does it get a lot of traffic? i dont see how it can be anything good for seo right now. your main page is pr0 and the sub pages arent even indexed by google.
