Why is Revshare hosting so damn slow?
 

Why does Revshare take so long for out.php? links , but regular links are fast?

Never have I had to go through so much aggravation & bullshit just to use a free host!!

What's up with all this bullshit about load balancing..
Not to mention the speed..
What normally takes 15 -20 seconds to ftp tool over 10 minutes, then after FTP. i gotta wait another 10 minutes to publish, then after all this bullshit, my page is still showing the previous page that existed prior to the update & the MySql is all fucked up as usual..
What is the point of using them, if I can't update the site without it getting all fucked up!!!
I shouldnt have to spent 2 fucking days working on a site that I can get done in 2 hours on another host..
What a fucking waste of time...
I am so frustrated..

Well, they are getting a cut of the revenue & I am getting hosting, so it's a trade off, but I won't be able to make either them nor my self any $$ if the servers are always fucked up!

one minute, it shows the updated page, then if I refresh, it shows the old page..This is one fucked up server..
& slow as shit..
I'm on cable modem & it takes well over 4 minutes for the page to be found....
I know they are having problems, but I am just frustrated that I have wasted so much time & effort on using this host, when I could have been more productive using some other host..

All hosting is a tradeoff. :) It's either $$$$ for hosting, or ad space for hosting, or 404 traffic stealing for hosting, etc.

The only one that comes with a "complaints for bad service" clause built in is $$$$$ for hosting. :)

Something is definitely royally screwed up though. I just got a huge page of MySQL errors.

How's this for a scenario;
If I use some other host promoting Platimum Bucks & I get 10 sales a day, I earn $350 a day.

If I use Revshare promoting Platinum Bucks & I get 10 sales a day, I earn $250 a day..

So, in actuallity, I am paying for the hosting.. $100 a day!!!!

Some free host that can't manage a directory? I don't know..It's not my site, though I do have the remains of a site I tried to get to work on that host..Thier MySql is all fucked up too..

If you paid your host $100 a day in cash for hosting, you'd still net $250, only you could call them up and bitch at them, since you paid up front for a specific service. Right now, your host is providing a service in exchange for potential revenue that may or may not come to fruition. They're taking all the monetary risks, and whoever takes the monetary risks has the biggest right to bitch about things.

Pay him no mind...too much lead in his system, when coupled with the ADD, makes him quite cranky.

Well, are those other 500+ webmasters trying to use a MySql database & a php script like Cjultra..
Sure, Revshare hosting is EXCELLENT for tgp galleries & pages without any scripts, but the attraction to Revshare for me, was the fact that you offer MySql & Php..But it is frustrating when it malfunctions so often..
It seems that every time I ftp & publish an update that this will occur, I planned on adding updates everyday, sometimes more than once a day..
What happens when a trade checks my site & it is all messed up.
They'll drop my site..
also, these mishaps interfere with productivity as well as counting hits in & out...
All I want is for it to function properly so I can send traffic to it..

No, it's a fuckup with the load balancer..
Maestro icq me & said I entered the wrong dbhost..said the techs fixed it..
Gangus fixed my setup, & we all thought it was fixed..
But, now it's fucked up again..
everytime I ftp & publish an updated index.shtml , the Mysql & php get all fucked up..
That's not any of my doing...
That's the servers load balancers & cache doing it..


& yes, Steve is a very nice guy..
He was very nice & professional..
from past experience, I don't think I have ever recieved a reply to an email so damn fast..
I emailed support@revshare & like minutes later had an answer..
WOW!

I have nothing against the hosting..It's frustration with not being able to have the script & mysql work right all the time..
I guess I'll just use Revshare for galleries & free sites..No scripts..too much headache with it..
I apologize if anyone thought I was mudslinging..
I was venting..it's been a long night & day..
almost 24 hours straight working..
