Globill............

Anybody here use globill? Are they reliable? Do they pay up? Do they owe a lot of people money?
How's their scrubbing and rebill processing ?

Thanks!

PeepNTom 01-29-2002 10:56 AM

I know 1 particular site using GloBill and have
been for several months... they swear by them!

they seem to be more geared to the website
owners needs instead of letting some asswipe
join up and get all your content sucked down
and then 4 days later give them a full refund
for any reason imaginable

cough..cough...Ibill...cough...cough

try em, you might like them ?

Darren 01-29-2002 11:03 AM

Globill are the best I swear by them

I'll 2nd (3rd?) that. Been with them over 2 years and have never had a complaint, or even heard one about them. They scrub a little hard but then chargebacks are stupidly low so it more than makes up for it.

gleem 01-29-2002 11:19 AM

They are the worst.l thet actually send out an email asking the surfer if it's ok to rebill them, and if the surfer doens't reply, they are dropped.

Brujah 01-29-2002 11:28 AM

gloBill blows.

RIPP 01-29-2002 11:43 AM

Haven't used Globill yet .... But I love Globills threats and intimidation on their <font color="red">"IMPORTANT! Please read our REFUND and FRAUD POLICY:"</font>, cancel membership page... This link (https://www.globill.com/dispute_policy.htm) gives me a woody.. lol :evil-laug

Gleem,

I heard this rumour that Ibill were doing that a few months ago for rebills and everyone started shitting in their pants and were looking all :Oh crap

You got a link to an INDUSTRY NEWS SITE that can CONFIRM this? ... If so please post it.

Later, RIPP

Oh, gosh, we wouldn't want the consumer to be able to make an informed decision whether to stay on as a member, would we? Not when we can quietly remove money from his wallet.

UnseenWorld 01-29-2002 12:06 PM

Isn't it clear: the best way to retain members isn't to trick them into staying, but to offer content that they like enough to want to continue to see? Fresh content, good content, and regular updates are the key, not cheating the customer.

m0rph3us 01-29-2002 12:12 PM

Thanks guys!

Ok some clarification please:
1. isn't there some option to disable emailing the members a request for a rebill?

2. what happens if they lose their merchant in the future.. do they have a backup or will all our rebills go *POOF*

3. Why do the people that say 'they suck' think they suck.. plz explain.

Thanks again

Brian911 01-29-2002 12:16 PM

since this is about globill >

did some dialer reseller copy the left navigation frame or is there some lazy designer out there who is too busy to come up with 2 different designs for 2 sites?

I dont want to start rumors here, because there is a logic answer for sure..

I`m thinking of using globill as 2nd processor as well btw (ccbill #1)

As long as people are made aware of the fact a charge will rebill, I don't see a problem. People have to be responsible for their own actions.

UnseenWorld 01-29-2002 12:25 PM

One of the best reasons for using Globill is that they are very conservative about avoiding chargebacks. No funny business means they are relatively safe as far as maintaining their merchant account. I believe they are also the only major processor which still can accept American Express cards, which constitute about 10% of my business!

FreeOnes 01-29-2002 02:49 PM

One sponsor of me uses Globill In 2 years time they had 1 problem which was a couple of months ago. Unfortunately this took about 2 weeks to get solved. Except of that one time problem they are pretty good and are sending checks always on time!

Pete 01-29-2002 03:12 PM

Have a look at the percentage globill takes on $2.95 and $3.95 sign ups. Thats what made me go to ccbill.

Pornwolf 01-29-2002 03:59 PM

Unseen, I didn't know that Globill was allowed to still run Amex charges! Thats huge. If you've ever been to a top strip club you know Amex is the card of choice for the top Smut-Hunters!
Thanks for that info!

Pete, how much do they charge for those 2.95 & 3.95's?

Chargebacks are not a good thing but allowing surfers to click a link on the 4th line of a welcome e-mail that says click here to cancel is a bit too easy. That's like having someone in the parking lot of Walmart telling a skinny model chick that bought a big bag of M&M's;

"If you don't want those you can give them to me and we won't charge you for them!"

Of course she'll give them back!

Jinn 01-29-2002 05:39 PM

About Amex: Globill does NOT accept Amex card for adult site now. I just got an email from them several days ago. Although Globill has extreme low chargeback, Amex insists to enforce its policy across the whole industry.

Plugger 01-29-2002 11:51 PM

Just to make sure you don't miss this important fact just mentioned, GLOBILL does not take AMEX for adult sites anymore!

NO AMEX FOR GLOBILL!

gleem 01-30-2002 01:30 AM

Yeah, even if someone wants to rebill half of them might not see the email in time, epsecially on trials! WTF are you thinking?? If you want proof, just go signup up at one of their sites. We dropped them like a wet PBJ sandwich after rebills were at like 9% and trial conversions were almost non existant A similar site using the same content did over 40% rebills with Jettis. Much better.
And I got the email from them, they DONOT take AE cards.:321GFY

Pete 01-30-2002 05:14 AM

Pornwolf, they take 60% of a $3.95 sign up and I believe 80% of a $2.95 sign up

Pornwolf 01-30-2002 05:29 AM

Thanks Pete.

I guess that's not so bad when you consider those low rates are normally for trials that turn into rebills 10 times that size! Since you are at CCBill now... what % do they take?

I'm goin to sleep now :sleep

Darren 01-30-2002 05:56 AM

Just got this off GLOBILL

"Thanks for the message. In regards to your question, the answer is no, we do not notify users that they will be rebilled. "

pr0 01-30-2002 06:05 AM

hahaha i love globill

Ajay 01-30-2002 06:37 AM

Jan. 13th I was notified of a recurring membership.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
YOUR STATEMENT WILL SHOW: "GLOBILL.COM LLC"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
YOUR MEMBERSHIP HAS RENEWED

"If you choose not to cancel, your membership will rebill in 30.00 days.
Note you can cancel anytime and your membership will continue until it expires."

I had to enter the phone # of the bank that issued my cc when first signing up on Dec. 14

Maybe this has changed in the past two weeks.
