anyone ever have a hole in a radiator hose?

what were the symptoms ?

white steam/smoke coming from my hood

checked oil , its fine
added a bit more water to radiator, it was on Low, filled it back up to Full...

I drove it around for 5 min and steam started to come from hood again. I pulled over and opened hood, steam/smoke is coming from my radiator region...

taking it to Toyota place tomorrow to get fixed

I assume I have a hole in my radiator hose? i hope its not my water pump.

I hate car woes :Oh crap

If it is the hose it is a cheap fix - you could do it yourself

The water pump would piss all over the ground..sounds like a hose..check the clamped areas, they get sliced over time

leaking radiator, head gasket, anything coming out the tail pipe?

if it was a bad hose coolant would be everywhere, and never pressurize

earlier today I noticed a tad bit of smoke coming out of tail pipe while I had it idling, not thick, very thin, not dark.

I have not noticed any fluids underneath car but will check in the morning before I drive to autoplace.

Straight antifreeze/coolant isn't a good idea either. It has to be mixed with water

Head gasket. it's not smoke, it's steam. warm up the credit card

sharpx9 07-20-2005 08:04 PM

um, did it overheat?

eamedia 07-20-2005 08:48 PM

depending on what kind of car you have this might be an easy fix... upper and sometimes lower hoses can cause steam.
