Coins are hot right now. Good investment!
 

i started investing in coins. my pops turned me onto them. he got started in 1999 with a proof set. the set cost him about $35. today that set is worth over $350. i'm a pretty fast learner, so i did alot of research on them and even bought a few coins myself. i even bought a bar of silver and gold. (100 once bars) i bought a set of platinum coins in 2004 for $2000 they went up to over $2800 in 6 months. not sure what they are worth now.

i even bought 15,000 wheat pennies. 3 big ole bags. about $225 a bag. the penny will be 100 years old in 2009. i will be selling them on ebay in 2009 and charge $2.99 just for shipping and handling alone for one penny. ebay taught me alot about collectors. if you need a coin to complete a set, you'll pay the shipping charges and not even blink.

my goal is to pay off my morgage with porn in a year or two (if we have that long) and hustle coins on ebay.

The guys making money in coins are the guys selling them. :)

I used to collect coins also and got some much from it.

What a coins (or any collectibles) set value is, and what price you can actually get when you sell it are often two very different things.

As a guideline, when i collected, most i would ever pay unless it was something really special, was 50% of vallue, often a good dea less.. So the paper value unfurtunatly won't make you rich :(

Gold and silver bars i think you can pick up at gold/silver price, right ?
Have been looking into those, and gold Krugerands myself just for the fun of it :)

Btw. any idea if there's a market for Visa Cash cards in US, got worth a small fortune of of those laying around *lol*

The good ones are rare,but every now and then you do find them

How about sports cards?

I don't know if my grandma still has all those collections she started collecting when she was on her 40s.
