London Mayor: "Likud, Hamas are 'two sides of the same coin'"
Please tell me this is some kind of joke :1orglaugh
London Mayor Ken Livingstone told Sky News on Tuesday that he does not distinguish between members of Likud and Hamas, branding them as "two sides of the same coin." "I think it is the Israelis who are leading the stubborn line," said Livingstone, who is known for his consistent criticism of Israeli policy. "The Likud and Hamas members are two sides of the same coin. They need each other in order to attract support." http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/602121.html |
They are two peas in a pod if you ask me as well.
|
hahaha if I was the Jerusalem Mayor, I'd say in response: "Al Qaeda and the Conservative Party in the UK are two sides of the same coin"...

Its not far from the truth.
Ken is Labor BTW......... |
i think he is more upset cause israel authorities warned UK for the upcoming hit and his country didnt take effective measurements to prevent it.

well - from this point of view i see two parties killing each other for a pile of sand. but what do i know... :2 cents:
|
To the whole world this is a true statment to a jewish person it is not plain and simple.
I have nothing against jewish people. But this "war" is a two sided event and has been since the begining of time so they will NEVER stop attacking each other .( hence the two peas in a pod statement ) Both feel entightled to the land, and so they both feel that they have a right to defend it by force. Fault is on both sides from where I stand . |

Joesho, I agree, fault on both sides, but this has been gone for like ever and mr london mayor just found the time to make such comment?
That's the typical bs some british politicans and journalists pull once in a while. It's a statement with purpose on specific time and not a legit remark. For a whole fucking year before the Athens Olympic Games had been running a huge media propaganda on how insecure Athens is gonna be and how they could do everything better blah blah from lies to fixed incidents. Disgusting. |

I had no idea London had such an anti Israeli for Mayor |
Livingstone is just an idiot in the like of Neville Chamberlain :2 cents:

He is not an idiot at all. He is very left and not perfect but he is not an idiot and has done good things in this city. |
So I guess it makes sense that the 1st thing that the Brits/G8 do after the bombs went off last week, is to announce that they are giving billions in aid to the Palestinians. Talk about bad timing. The UK doesn't even realize it yet, but they are well on their way to becoming the 1st European Dhimmi islamic state.
Also, if you really think that this is between Jews & Muslims, I think that you are dead wrong. Jihadists, who I believe these acts are proudly committed by, will go after all other infidels. Remember the crusades? Who was fighting who? Remember all the fuss when GWB said "crusade" after 9/11? You know that the majority of the populations in the Arabic/islamic world remember. That is what is taught in schools & madrassa from Algeria to Yemen. The Jews are just an easy target, and are in the cross-hairs because of the land dispute. |

" He hates Jews, his radical Muslim buddies hate Jews even more, so how come they killed people in London? Livingstone is a scum bag, too bad he was not on the bus or in the subway cars that blew up :2 cents: |
When I was a kid we had Arab friends who suffered at the hands of the Irgun. They still have a deed for land in Tel Aviv that they were burned off of. The Likud was populated by Irgun terrorists.
Two sides of the same coin indeed. And by not being magnaminous in their current victory the Israeli's are digging a huge hole they may not be able to climb out of. |
"Funny hearing a Brit talk about this. Take a look at Ireland, you twit!
The Euros are great at projecting their guilt onto their victims... If it wasn`t for the Brits, the French, the Belgians, Spanish etc. drawing straight borders across maps of the world, most of today`s internal conflicts in Africa and the Middle East wouldn`t even be happening, and especially Israel-Palestine, Rwanda, the Congo, South Afrivca, Angola etc." |

The crappy kinda sand too, not the delicious South Pacific sand. Frankly, I throughly dislike both sides. The European Jews stole land from the Palestinian Arabs with the excuse that since they share a religion with Palestinian Jews this gave them the right to create a Jewish state. What the European Jews seem to forget is that they hadn't lived on those lands in over 1800 years and weren't even ethnically in the same ballpark! The other Arab states don't give a shit about Palestinian Arabs because they aren't of the same tribe. But, those Muslim bastards are more than happy to stir the pot so that the oppressed idiots at home somehow blame the Jews for their ills instead of their own corrupt governments. Lastly, the fucking Palestinian Arabs feed on themselves instead of uniting to free themselves. |
That is what coexistence means people. A coin will not be a coin without its two sides..lol (what the fuck I am saying?!)
|
Nothing funny I guess. That's just true.

I'm sorrry, do you live in London? He is not a racist person. He was very involved in anti-racism campaigns long before he was mayor and that last comment of yours is just so uncalled for that it makes whatever else you say unimportant. Leaders meat a lot with people they should not meet with but did you not hear him speak right after the bombings about evil, etc? I guess not. |

How many Americans know what the "Balfour Declaration" is? If you don't (google it now), you can't begin to understand the Palestinian/Israeli problem. Sure, religion plays a big part, but it's not simply a problem of Jews and Muslims not liking each other. They have lived together peacefully for years in the past. ... just my 2 cents ... |
The Brits are known to be clear of any war crimes through history... they also never fight for lands that don't belong them or occupy them *cough* falkland *cough* *cough* india *cough*
they also don't insist on keeping their troops in northern ireland... they are clear as a crystal ball :1orglaugh |

And since you have mentioned Northern Ireland, it should be a warning as to where Israel is heading if it maintains its present policy towards the West Bank. The problem of Northern Ireland in a nutshell is that it has a minority of citizens who are treated as second-class by the majority, to the extent that for example, two or three generations of a family might never have been employed. Since the divide is a religious one, there isn't the slightest chance they will ever become the majority via the democratic process. Even if there was the will and desire to do so, there is no practical way to split the country up and allow the Catholic parts to join Southern Ireland. If the majority in Northern Ireland had any sense, out of self interest they would have done away with the inequalities long before bombs started going off. But they are like people the world over: selfish, self-centered, not very moral and not very sensible. Just like Israelis are doing, they kidded themselves that they could treat people like dirt, year after year, and crush those people into accepting that treatment. And when the Catholics started to fight back, instead of saying hey, we got this wrong, they again reacted like most people would have done and started talking about teaching the ingrates a lesson, etc, etc. I lived in Israel for 10 years, so I know that the majority of people do not support occupation of the West Bank. But I also understand how finely balanced the Knesset is and therefore why extreme points of view carry so much weight. Unfortunately, when it comes to the West Bank, a compromise solution involving partial settlement is absolutely the worst option because it guarantees that Israel will face its own Northern Ireland scenario for years to come. There are two ways for Israel to stop being an occupying force so that peace becomes at least a possibility, however remote. Either withdraw completely from predominantly arab-occupied areas, or go the route which Arik Sharon and several other ex-generals were proposing back in the 80's and drive the Palestinians out of the disputed areas. |
how old are you jayeff if you don't mind me asking?

There ya go. Your ramblings always have made you no better than those you want to kill and if proof was ever needed you have no intelligence too then we now have it. Have to love the fucking idiotic Americans too who haven't even a grasp of their own politics and are now making the typical stupid comments you expect in this kind of thread. You have to feel sorry for those in your country with a little brain power as it must suck that the idiots make a huge chunk of the world think you're all like that. Typical uninformed, GFY political thread full of people with no clue on the subject. But then a good chunk of the EU is happy to admit mistakes past and present including the Brits. Shame the same can not be said for many others. :Oh crap |
Quote:
Oh well - out of this thread as it serves no purpose other than something to shake your head at in realisation of why the world is such a fucked up place. |
Another sensitive Israeli. How quaint. Grow some balls man. Why is it you cry when anyone dares to criticize your nation? Here's a tip, learn from it and move on. Perhaps this is how it appears to many people from the outside that are not letting emotion and national/racial/religious pride cloud their judgement.
