Have you considered using Xoops? Much better code base - any good PHP guy can make changes very quickly. Mambo is kind of a bitch to customize.

sorry if i havnt replied to you guys, i had been away from my pc most of the day after i had posted.. i will get back to you guys tomorrow.. most likely we will be getting a custom script written.. i'll keep you guys posted, thanks for the responses guys
