Touching up thumbs.
What filters/techniques do people use in photoshop to get the best results? Are there any programs out there that could apply a certain effect, IE: brightness, contrast adjustments to a bunch of thumbs without having to go through them one by one?
Thanks in advance. :winkwink: |
Create an action.
Load the image to crop. Select a general area you want made into a thumb. Make it so the center of the selected area is teh main focus of your thumb. Go to the actions pallet and click the "new action" button. Chose an F key to trigger the action. I use f10. Go to image, crop. Then to Image, Adjustments, Brightness/contrast. Adjust to taste. Click ok. go to image, resize and adjust either the height or weidth depending on which is the shortest of the two. If your thumb is wider than it is tall, then adjust the height to the desired length. Then go to image, canvas size and set the canvas size of the oposite dimension you adjusted in the previous step to what your thumb size is. Then go to file, save for web, jpg, 45% save it to your location and then close the image. Stop recording the action. How all you have to do for that partocular image set is make a selection fo the area you want to crop and click the F key you assigned. Easy as pie. If you want the thumbs to really stand out add this step before saving the thumb. DOuplicate current layer. Filters, blur, smart blur. Ok. Set the opacity of the current layer to desired levels to nothing looks plastic. Hit CTRL-E Filters, sharpen, sharpen. then proceed with the saving. |
Thanks for that, i am familiar with that technique. I just wish there was an faster way to do it.
