Did Video Post change its submit frequency?

It now says one every two days? When I paid the money it was for one every day and now it changes half way through???

Ray@TastyDollars 07-18-2005 12:48 PM

Yes, we just got word of this ourselves

They changed that over the weekend. However, this will not affect how many of your galleries will get listed, that is after all what is important. The reason I say this is, they will now have less galls to review, giving everyone a much better chance of getting listed. I'm sure your acceptance rate will go up.

I just emailed them asking how I go about getting a refund
I'm not overly happy
Not only do I only get to sbumit every second day - I only get listed 25% of the time compared to 80% before I bouhgt my 3 month pass

I'll believe it when I see it
How do I get my money back?
I would rather have the money than trade with someone who oversubscribes submitting facilities

Leedogg, keep in mind this is a paid PARTNER account, not a guaranteed paid gallery listing. You're not going to get listed everyday, you only paid $39 now $1200 ;)

A paid partner account to submit one time per day. If they are that bogged down with submissions then why isnt it marked as sold out instead of dumping on the partners that have already paid their cash?

FreeHugeMovies 07-18-2005 05:58 PM

If they get too many submissions, raise prices and reduce number of partner accounts. That's if only the current submissions are giving the surfers the kind of content video-post wants.

Lee 07-19-2005 01:11 AM

Yes, they should either raise the price or reduce the number of accounts which would be a fair way of doing it, not to mention transparent. You pay your money for something and you are aware of what you are getting. But to change it half way through once youve paid stinks of rotten fish.

Its not fun getting shit on, and its even less fun when you pay for the privilege of it.

Hi, this does not have any impact of how many of your galleries actually get listed and that's the only important thing, isn't it?

Over the last couple of months the number of submissions has increased to a level where we had to decline 50% of all submissions due to overflow. This is nothing new, this has gradually increased over the course of months - even before you purchased your pass.

Now that we have reached 50% overflow declines we felt it is in the best interest of webmasters and ourselves to ask submitters to only submit one gallery every second day from now on. The only effect this will have is save submitters and us a lot of time. The acceptance ratio will now obviously double since there are only half as many submissions.

Again, this has no impact whatsoever on how many of your galleries actually get listed - and that's what you paid for in the end.

If anyone has any questions feel free to email me or post here. Also, GTS and Nichespots are always willing to give refunds for services not yet received.

Hope this makes things clear :)

Ok, I am going to watch how it carries on. I currently have an acceptance ratio of just over 50%, which rounded down means approx 15 galleries would get listed over a 30 day period using the one per day rule. Now that I am going to only be able to submit 15 per month this means that I would need a 100% acceptance ratio to get as much "bang for my buck". Now bearing in mind that most of my declines are usually because of "overflow, too many similar submissions", is it right that I can expect to see the number of those sorts of declines drop?

I am going to monitor this over the next 35-40 days (Im allowing for the 5 pending to have some declines due to the one every other day rule). If I see an increase to say 70-75% then I would call that a fair compromise. If I dont then it would be fair to say you have done a great dis-service to those who have already paid in advance.

You know what, if you had sent an email to your partners explaining that you are getting swamped with submissions and were introducing this new rule it would have sucked, but it would have been more up front and acceptable. To get the first decline owing to "one every other day" was not nice when I had paid to submit one per day.

Yes, we will not have to use the overflow decline message that often anymore since there are now only half as many submissions.

Yes, please keep in mind that there are still about 2 weeks worth of daily submissions left in the backlog, so you will see a few more overflow decline message in the next 2 weeks or so.

Agreed. I really didn't think it would cause so much stir since it doesn't really have any impact on the amount of galleries that actually get posted. This change was just to save submitters and us some time.

Lee 07-19-2005 06:54 AM

Ok cool, I shall see how it works out.
