Flotsam Wisdom in the Bay
The Corrective Set-back, or
"How to profit from Titanic's Legendary Loss" "Full-steam ahead" is certainly exhilirating, but the consequences of collision at high speed are exponentially increased. For having piloted a craft or two at irresponsibly rapid rates, at times in "races" in the company of other boats, I've seen some spectacular disintegrations on the Seas. Funny thing is, I'd say they were all preventable, and unnecessary in the extreme -- but for the one disconsolate, unsung necessity that tragedy and death serve well -- providing an example of what NOT to do for those who watch. But experience, potentially, inflates itself, and arrogance sets in, there too. It is the feeling of invulnerability that whispers doom, and makes the "tactile" driver toe his brakes and squint his eyes for signs of solid things afloat in fog, ahead. I tried to help a friend tonight, a captain in his own right, to appreciate the satisfaction of a moment's caution well-applied. But, slowing down is really not his trip. I fear frustration, and a sense of losing time, have taken root, and pressure on the throttle is a drug. I hate to preach. But logic, on the other hand, is inescapable and always there. One is free to invoke it, agnostically, in support of common sense, without betrayal, feeding jealousy or taking sides. It is objective, syllogistic, and, defensibly -- the "truth". And so, to my friend I say, take heed. Contrariance, especially the type that make us rage, becomes an instrument of friendliness, when one is speeding towards a cliff -- :) 2HP |

Better question . . . how? I know if the bay is involved, it must be a good story. |

Well written, Jack. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story... ADG Webmaster |
Wiser words were never spoken... Props to you Jack! :thumbsup

This is funny. Too bad it will need to be explained in depth before people truly understand the humor here. :1orglaugh PS....You know damn good and well who's being talked about here. :winkwink: |
Jack.. are you saying I'm as big as a barge or that you like the motion of my ocean?
Had a good time at dinner tonight Jack, thanks for venturing out and joining us. :pimp |

Ramos, how much tip did you throw down for? |

Somebodies jealous that they were not included in a private dinner party in their own town. Makes the whole thing even funnier. :1orglaugh |
I've got five bucks that says Ramos hooked up with a tranny and is still in SF.

Ya know....I'm pretty sure that 2HP left that 5 bucks...BUT...He also sprung for that pricey round of drinks pre-dinner. Thanks again for that, 2HP. :thumbsup |

I already had a photo/video session arranged so that I couldn't attend today's last minute event, even had I desired to, and I also attended a wonderful private dinner party in my own town. You are a talented photographer Aaron, but you have a very strange ego. I was simply asking about what 2HP was alluding to... ADG Webmaster |

It's not my ego that seems hurt every time you miss a dinner gathering...It's yours. |

If anyone else would care to share what actually happened today, I'm sure it would be welcomed. ADG Webmaster |

"If anyone else would care to share what actually happened today, I'm sure it would be welcomed." Translation: Aaron was right, I am dying to know what went on tonight because I still feel left out. |

Despite what you seem obsessed with saying, my night neither rested upon attending the dinner nor on what transpired at the function. I was simply trying to bump an articulate thread of a friend. For whatever reason, you chose to be an asshole with me, and therefore you have diminished this thread. I apologize to 2HP for that, and for our little exchange. If you don't care to share what happened, then let it go. Somehow I doubt that your twisted ego can stop that from occuring, but perhaps you are a better person than you have demonstrated thus far in this thread. ADG Webmaster |

Nope...I'm pretty much the very asshole you think I am. :glugglug Kinda funny that you don't seem to understand why I think you're a piece of shit. :1orglaugh Me thinks thou dost protest too much. |

I have poked fun at you a few times in the past Aaron, but it was never meant maliciously. I think you know that you strike a raw nerve with people at times. It's a shame if you take pleasure in that. I get the impression that you are not all that bad of a person, but then you occasionally show an ugly side here on GFY and I don't know what to think. GFY doesn't make much of an impact upon my business. I am mostly here to shoot the shit and have fun. I've actually made a few friends in the process, and hopefully not too many enemies (I don't actually consider anyone an enemy on GFY, not even you). As I have said before, I think you have a wonderful talent as a photographer. If you focus on becoming a nicer person, then you will become an even greater success both in business and as a person.
