download it, burn the iso to make it bootable, reboot (with cd bootable of course), follow instructions. if its your first time, id recommend having another pc (or mac if ya know whats good fer ya!) available to get online and google stuff. i havent done anything x86 for years now, but if it hasnt progressed that much, it should be pretty straight forward.
if youre new to *nix in general, try fedora. its straight forward like red hat (as it IS redhat), but its good! and great for new people (i hate the term newbie), and has a lot of docs. and you can easily install server software, because you DONT want to use ASP/IIS...trust me, you just dont...php/mysql is the way.
good luck, message me if you need any more help
am i even allowed to post in this place?
