(Good meeting you at Hedo also :thumbsup )

swoop 07-17-2005 06:40 PM

agreed Macanudos are one of my Fav's. Punch makes good affordable cigars in that range

Check out www.famous-smoke.com if you want to buy cigars online. I spent over $100 there last month and they are by far the cheapest cigar shop online.

Any CAOs are good, Drew Estate Acid's and Naturals both rock. Check out this cigar blog for more good non-cuban cigars: http://www.cigarblogger.com/cigars/

I consider a "cheap" cigar to be in the $60 range, gotta spend it like you mean it

What's a "non legal" cigar??? :-) One with Columbian additives? :-)

Sorry.. mine are all handmade and cost all of three cents with decent leaf and seed content. (Kinda illustrates how much of a rip off "marketing" can be!) The only complaint is some batches are obviously rolled on a virgins thigh and some batches are wrapped too tight like they were rolled tween a whores ass cheeks.

BTW if you are after Cuban cigars - a lot of the known brands are actually made in Nicaragua from Cuban leaf and seed from .. South America someplace. A visit to a factory there and a car load can save literally many $1000's!

Acid's Baby, or anything from Drew Estates. Domincan Republic is putting out an amazing product, i like alot of thier cigars better than the cubans and they are a hell of alot cheaper

tranza 07-18-2005 07:54 AM

You can buy a nice Romeu e Julieta here for US$10.

'cuban is best' is marketing drivel nowadays. ive smoked cubans in canada quite a bit when i was over there - some were amazing and some were downright average. ill second the macanudo recommendation, specifically macanudo vintage 5 1/2, 50 ring as i like the draw the best on those. these are my daily smokers nowadays - ill order samples of other things from time to time to be a bit adventurous and smoke something a bit less 'solid' - but the macanudo vintage is a new experience every time i smoke.

A good cigar isn't always about the $$$
I've had an awesome $10 cigar but then a horrible cigar from Hudson Bar and Books in NY, can't remember the price to be honest, but it was around $40
Of course you HAVE to try Shakespeare Cigars. www.shakespearecigars.com
They are the best bang for the buck, but you don't have to take my word for it. Check out the article written about us.
