I had a Victory Vegas

http://www.mrpheer.com/vegas2.jpg

I only had it for 2 weeks before a drunk driver hit me and destroyed it, but it sure was a nice bike. I cant say anything negative about the Victory brand. They get alot of attention, and pretty much the only maintenance they need are regular oil changes.

It has a fat tire on it like the Victory Hammer :)

Since those pics were taken I've bought new custom wheels for it, a $3000 set of custom handlebars, had the seat reworked and recovered, and just sent the tank & fenders out for custom paint.

Thes bikes here are mine & my wife's 'everyday' bikes

YARGH! Mr Pheer, those bikes be awesome. How do you like the VTX? I was thinkin' of the VTX prior to seein' me hammer. How do they compare. Which would you recommend?

tristan_D 07-17-2005 05:26 PM

I prefer the ride of the VTX over the Victory. It has more power, is water cooled and runs smoother. And costs less if that matters.

Either bike can look great, but the Victory looks better off the showroom floor. There is much more aftermarket support for the VTX, and if you need repairs or maintenance, there is a Honda dealer almost everywhere you go.

As much as I liked my Victory, I bought a VTX after I was able to walk again, just because I wanted to customize it. Plus i live in a desert and the Victory is air cooled, I didnt want to deal with potential over heating. But you really cant go wrong with either bike. Both are made in America, by americans, using parts made in america.
