A question for those complaining about giving away too much free porn...
 

Can someone explain to me how we're supposed to make money in this business without giving away some free samples (in most cases a gallery)?

With the exception of pure circle jerking, I honestly don't know the answer. And I read so many posts saying things like "How do you expect people to pay for a membership when you're giving away 15 Free Pictures??". So please enlighten me how to make money in the business as a webmaster without making galleries and giving away free samples?

It sounds like so many people have the answer so I'd like to hear some.

Agreed, something has to be given away free, but there's a limit.

TGP2 is a great step in the right direction IMO. Couple that with softcore only pics, a little creative cropping and watch those CTR's skyrocket.

in my opinion what I take away from the free porn issue is not so much that the problem lies within so many galleries out there.
But the fact that tgp owners want more than 15 pics and would prefer hardcore.
So the step in the right direction would be to:
1. limit images on gallery to 10 or less
2. Lower the quality of the porn so the surfer has to pay to see the hot chicks.
3. Show less pink, money shots etc. Hardcore should be paid for.

I like to check out the sites I sponsor and the simple fact is we are in alot of cases providing better quality images and videos than major paysites....this is wat has to change.

Not sure how new you are, but there was a day when we made free sites...with 10 shitty pics..tons of ads,full page ads,warning pages with ads...all these things to make the surfer have to see your ads and jump through some hoops before he got to the good shit,why make it easy? your goal was to send the guy to your sponsor..not let him get to your pics,and if you were good you could get up to 60% of them to your sponsor...without blind links and pop ups mind you. It made alot of money,and still does to this day. But then came along peole like thehun and other tgp's and thought "why dont we make it easy or our surfers so they come back to our sites"...and started linking directly to the pic pages bypassing all the fun stuff that made us money. IT was all down hill from there ;-)

Anyone remeber when boards were a buzz with getting this site or that site listed on PK and Greenguy? damn..never see that anymore :)

and I agree with what you say about showing less.

To this day I still cringe at the thought of putting any more than 10 crappy pics on a site, and they absolutely have to be on html pages. Clickable, with links above and below the pick.
