Did you not shoot this content yourself?

Grab screen caps from the tape or AVI man. Way better quality than wmv caps.

Yeah that's a good suggestion. Reason I asked is I didn't think I had the raw AVI's lying around. But I just checked, and I've got them right here. :thumbsup

Screen caps...in general....Suck. (HD excluded)

Always best to have the highest quality starting point instead of a compressed one.

Garbage in = garbage out.

And to answer your other question......PD170 BUT I would suggest you look into the HD1's instead. :2 cents:

To get a screenshot of any video just DISABLE THE ACCELERATION of your video card and use any screen capture program. Thanks come again.

I guess my biggest obstacle is screen capping the WMV slices, and I agree it's best to cap from an AVI source BUT when I slice 3000 video clips from WMV it's impossible for me to automate the screencap process from the AVI source. It just ads an exponential degree of complexity to the situation. I guess capping from the WMV source at this point is probably the best alternative.

Why can you automate from the AVI?

I don't seem to have that problem.

Maybe it was something I was asking months ago, but do you mean HC1 or FX1? There's no Sony HD1 that I've heard of.

go into your media player options and under performance set the video acceleration to none. you can then print screen and paste it into photoshop or whatever properly.
